I think repair cost doesn't matter that much really, if you can break vases and make 300k/hr, then u know the gold in this game won't mean anything later on, especially when RMAH out. No one cares about golds, they're here just for repairing and buying health potion lol.

How many SoJ's ya got!?
You're right. Funny how in D2 people developed a currency system that was borderline just as useless as the gold was. Currency only has as much value as the masses think it does and as such will vary.

With the buff to gear..I feel like the currency for gold will be around for quite sometime. They're going to be so much more items and so much more gear on the AH which causing people to use the AH more items. Also with the nerf to inferno meaning more people will be able to do it will cause a influx of extra people trying to get the same gear you want. If gold prices stay around 10 bucks a million or around 8 bucks...Lets say a newly perfect Wind Force cost 50 million that is 500 bucks....More then they can get from the RMAH...I feel that is how the AH is going to work out.
Buying gold to buy items is the new wave of the future. So they can get more money for the perfect item .
I have a question... I haven't had much time to play recently, so I've just been doing some AH stuff instead of grinding through the higher acts... and I signed on really quickly to see how my items were doing in the AH, and I saw that I had two bids on gems (that have apparently expired, and I won one and lost one).
The only problem is... I've never ever bid on anything before (let alone on gems). Any time I want something in the AH, I buyout the item (personal preference, so far it's been fine, and this choice is irrelevant anyway), and I have absolutely no idea why these two bids have appeared on my AH screen.
Here's a screenshot:
This is the first time I've ever even *seen* anything on the bottom half of this window before.
I looked around for any other suspicious activity but couldn't find any. I didn't lose any items or gold (although a loss of 5849 gold- the sum of these two bids- is something I wouldn't have recognized). It says I won 6 square rubies, but I don't actually have that many in my inventory or stash, nor are they in my Completed AH tab (where you go to pick up your item/ gold after an exchange or transaction is completed).
I honestly have no clue what the heck is going on, although I got hacked about a week or two ago (Blizzard rolled back my account, I changed my password, and I'm still waiting for my authenticator to get here, etc.). Nobody knows my new password, and it's much much different than my old one. Any thoughts?
Would love some bumps/discussion if you see fit. I know those forums are a cesspool of shit but I had to try. :/
The game is designed to have changing locales, monsters and resulting challenges. They specifically timed how long you spend in an area in order to have high odds for you to switch it when it beginns to start being dull. It´s fine once after you beat a boss you keep playing instead of restarting in order to repeat what you just did. "restarting in order to repeat what you just did" is how the game gets boring.
A) bug B) somebody else used your computer, physically, while you were logged in C) you got hacked because you had malware on your comp, you still have the malware, your new password is now compromised
Just change your password and get an authenticator, if you haven't. It's probably a bug, someone's purchase got mixed up with your stash, but never fails to err on the safe side.
I've been trying to get the mats to get into Whimsyshire
I've probably been through Cathedral Lvl 1 at least 20 times now and I still have yet to find the Black Mushroom. I think I might have found it in one of my earlier ones then tossed the mushroom because I didn't know wtf it was for.
does anyone know if it's possible I can never get it to spawn again now?

well I finally did find it and took a ton of remakes
I don't look forward to grinding out the other stuff heh
i have a question about group loot, my brother is starting a demon hunter and since Im going to play with him/ i also want a demon hunter, how would the loot be effected? would it be bad having 2 of the same class?

group loot isn't shared, but quality of loot dropping is dependent on average MF of all group members
in terms of useful loot, you'll only be looking for gear specific to a single class so that might make it feel like you guys don't get any good loot

I also play with my brother, and we have a WD and a Monk paired up, which is nice, cause any dex gear he can use and any int gear I can use, so it feels like we find a lot of useful stuff.

I believe if you have EVER purchased a crafting mat in AH before, EVERY single one of them appears, regardless of buyout or bid. I got scared for a moment when I logged in to see half a page of auction mats when I realized that the vast majority of them I purchased in that amount the few days after release when it was still working. Working as intended(probably not), although it probably scares the hell out of people who only bought stuff like once or twice.

+1 to this. I use a barbarian (strength), and my two brothers use a DH (dexterity) and wizard (intelligence). Any drops that don't work for one of us, is usually useful for another.
Commodity auctions are back up. What's the consensus on selling now versus later? Are prices high now, or will the market be flooded and they'll be higher in a few days?

That's useful to know, thanks That being said, I've never bought any gems or crafting materials from the AH, and the last time I bought an item was about a week ago (and I've checked the AH many times since then to update my sold items and sell others, so I wouldn't have missed this). I've never even sold gems or crafting materials via the AH before. I've never had any interaction with gems or crafting materials via the AH (although as a barbarian, I do use rubies a lot).

It is definitely flooded, but it's pretty much impossible to say with certainty whether it will go up or down. I don't see gem prices getting any higher personally for the tier 7 and below gems (currently going for <200 each last I checked, some even <100). Crafting materials however are going to be completely reliant on how big a buff blizzard throws artisans I think. The blacksmithing changes are still unannounced so it is anybodies guess. There should be an increase the release day regardless though, although if they hold after that only time will tell.
