Thank god for you, kind sir.
If anyone else switched their language like an idiot trying to get in before the servers were back up, and is now getting "failed to read a required file, please close all other programs and disable your antivirus and try again", kill the process Agent.exe in the task manager. All is well. Jesus.

Blizzard really need to do something about mob damage scaling up so much in coop games. I kinda feel like at that point he just wasn't a very patient/good player. I know everyone thinks that barbs should have high enough resist/hp/armor/life on hit to just sit there and wail on people but honestly that would just make the game incredibly boring. Did he have any kind of strategy? Did he know how to kite? Did he learn the attack patterns of the mobs he was facing? Did he single off mobs to kill? Or did he just run at a big group and left click? I think a lot of people need to realize that while Diablo isn't the most skill-based game (lol), it also isn't COMPLETELY mindless. People get discouraged and give up way too easily imo.
Anyway this new patch looks great, except for the NV change, which I don't understand at all. Why wouldn't they just guarantee that rares dropped an amount of rares and that bosses dropped more with 5 stack? That way you would be encouraged to do bosses but doing rares in the same game AFTER you kill the boss and have 5 stacks would be much more attractive than starting a new game. Actually I guess I think the coop change is a little bit drastic as well. I think there should be SOME damage scaling, I mean you're going to have more people to tank, the mobs's attention will be split between more people.
I'm excited to see the changes for legendaries. I honestly don't think they're in the worst spot right now but I can see why people want them to be improved. I kind of wanted legendaries to be really really good but not the SUPREME items. I think there should be rares that drop better stats. Like you can be a really well geared character with legendaries but the best players will have mostly rares. This way, more casual players can just search for legendaries on AH and those that are more into the game can look for the rares, which will be more of a "wild card".
The repair cost change is great, and yall should get over it. What Blizzard said is exactly right, there SHOULD be a penalty for dieing. I currently feel just about no excitement when facing difficult or new spots because I know that if I die I can just res for a minimal fee. Anyone who's played hardcore will tell you that the fun comes from the thrill of knowing that the stakes are high and feeling the fear of losing something you've spent time nourishing. Honestly this game is not hard enough (especially with the Inferno nerfs) for people to die enough that they'll go poor off of dieing. Also, blizz is covering it up, but they know that this is a great way to balance the classes. How many people just play DH because all you need is dex dex dex IAS IAS IAS? They're the cheapest to build because they don't really have to worry about survivability with smoke bomb and shit. I'm happy to see the end of those full glass cannon builds, they were really annoying for those playing other classes =P.
Also I'm really glad to see no big skill changes yet, awesome choice. I really don't think that the best builds have been found out yet and nothing truly abusive (except for that wiz crit build) has been uncovered yet. I'm having a great time playing around with my wizard and all the different skills right now, I think a lot of builds and spells work well and the builds are still evolving.

Yeah, I'm honestly never buying a blizzard game again.
HEY GUYS! Remember back when you could at least play offline when online was messed up? Now I have to wait for them so that I can play single player. Hell, I feel like getting D3 hacked has more advantages to it than disadvantages.

You know, if they're expecting us to remain online at all times, I expect them to do the same.

Couldn't have said it any better myself.

I have no idea how much it costs to repair Inferno gear, but with the supposed patch that will make repairing gear 4-6 times more expensive and the ability to sell damaged gear which will be auto repaired when bought couldn't people just abuse the AH to save some money with a friend. Granted this is a very round about way to abuse the AH to save some repair costs and you would need to put your gear up for insane amounts of money or be quick to prevent someone else from buying it.

Nope, there is a 15% tax from blizzard and you would have to post it for a freaking ton to not risk losing it.
So if I post something for 100 mil, my friend will pay 100 mil and I only get 85 mil. So we lose 15 mil to repair the item.
repair costs will be like 30-60k? not sure, thats not worth me losing my 8 mil item

My repair cost is 11k when I'm only in yellow (not totally broken).

Well said. I think upping the prices is a really good move by blizzard and will contribute to making the game better. It's still way less punishing than in d2 where dying would lose you 300 baal runs.

Hey guys, I'm a total noob at diablo 3 so i want to know if what i'm doing is smart. At the moment I'm a level 36 monk and I'm walking around with +95% gold and a lot of DEX. I'm pretty sure the dex is good but is the +% gold worth it?

There's going to be downtime. They schedule it for the absolute best time of the day - morning + afternoon when most people are working. Oh well..

Also the servers were originally supposed to be up an hour ago, which is what most people are complaining about.

It's about majority and always will be. Idealistic scenarios of utopian society and everyone getting their fair share are naive. I live in the Atlantic time zone, where this maintenance would have the most negative effects because would be closer to our peak time than anybody else's. East is one hour behind, central 2, rocky 3, pacific 4. Peak time is in the evening. If maintenance is taking place WELL before peak time in MY time zone, then it shouldn't be affecting others as much
