What’s Blizzard’s cut? As with other online auction sites and real-world auction houses, our fee structure will vary by region. However, we plan to collect a nominal fixed transaction fee for each item listed in the auction house. This fee consists of a fixed charge to list the item, which is assessed whether or not the item is successfully sold, and an additional fixed charge that is assessed only if the item is sold. The listing portion of the fee, which helps encourage sensible listing prices and discourage the mass posting of items that are very low quality or would be of little interest to other players, will be waived for a limited number of transactions per account. For players who opt to have the proceeds of their auction house sales go to their third-party payment service account instead of to their Battle.net account, Blizzard will collect a separate “cash-out” fee. Specific details regarding these fees will be announced at a later date.

I'm not buying this game. GW2 it is Uh, no they're not selling gold. They're letting people sell items for real money through blizzard instead of them having to risk their money buying from sites like d2legit. It's a smart thing they're doing, since players would buy from 3rd party sites anyways.

Do you enjoy playing and RPG and putting time into your character just to be out done by Joe McSchmoe who bought all his gear for 400 dollars off the auction house. It's a fucking disgrace.

Why would Blizzard endorse this, it's like being able to purchase gold directly from Blizzard for USD in WoW, which is explicitly against the ToS of that game.. Except now they're designing their business plan around it? Give me a break Blizzard. You are NOT BUYING GOLD. You are buying loot from OTHER PLAYERS. It is the same as buying from 3rd party websites like in Diablo 2, lots of players would buy from random websites with the risk of being scammed. This takes all of the risk away, and makes it instant. Good on Blizzard for doing this.

They are selling licenses to do the trading, so yes, they are profiting to an extent. Again, it has nothing to do (for me, at least) with the fact that other websites do it. It has to do with the fact that the company directly supports it.

Now you just select 6 skills to take with you and no pumping skills into things. The concept of builds is removed as well.

What don't you get about that? Open your eyes.

I hope they change their minds, but they are right it'll happen regardless. Unfortunately they haven't been able to keep SC2 hack free so I worry how much that'll have an impact on the whole ordeal.

Hm, buy a BoE item for 10 dollars USD, sell said item to player in game for 100gold, the exchange rate becomes 10gold/1USD. How is this not buying gold?

It's trading with OTHER PEOPLE. You are not creating ingame items from nothing with your money. It's the same as people buying items with ingame gold. There are no extra items created, just transacted.
