Friend and I both leveled one together last night, I built hard aoe and he built single target for yellows/guardians, and it was a blast.

I know this is pretty much how high GRs go, but usually most classes can trade some damage for survivability and peace of mind (at the cost of a few GR levels obv). Even when stacking lots of life regen and toughness with both abilities and items wherever possible, the damage to survivability ratio is still heavily skewed toward damage lol. Haven't tried the OP tragouls stuff yet.

My WD is going along nicely but I still need to get 4 more pieces of my seasonal set. My goal this season is to finally go up to grift 70 and start dropping those sweet Primal Ancients (each season I usually lose interest into the game at about grift65 haha). I think I should get Necro anyway, if only for the 2 extra stash tabs.

GR70-75 and mobs still disintegrate when you have momentum going, but one misstep or bad affix and it's ugly. Especially respawns, since you won't have the mitigation from your set bonus and/or decrepify belt right away, and probably proc your cheat death within the first couple seconds. Haven't tried the OP tragouls stuff yet. Rathma's set has flagrant survivability issues even at lower GRs (50-60) where, if you don't insta-kill the enemies, almost any elite affix (frozen, thunder, mortar) procs your Final Service passive or straightforwardly kill you. Also, the default Rathma set build has mobility issues as it doesn't make use of Blood Rush or any other mobility skills and it feels so much slower than other classes/builds clearing rifts.

Depends on what you mean by steam roll. GR50-60 lot less dangerous than 70. If I stay behind my pets and consistently push forward towards density then yeah everything will die before I get to them, like a snow plow. Which is definitely how I'd play if I was playing hc. Pretty easy to get <5 min on ~GR60 this way. But as soon as you get greedier and start blood rushing around to find better density/elites (even without ingeom) it's very easy to get into a tough spot. Not just by accidentally porting into a big group of mobs either; losing the momentum from corpses to devour and having 4+ mages up means that extra few seconds of "set up" time when you do reach a new pack can cost you a lot of HP. I didn't have Endless Walk set at the time either which helps slightly when moving around a lot but yeah, that turn on time while you're getting new mages rolling keeps me on my toes. It's definitely more fun than your typical pet build like one of the other posters said. I'm gonna try an Inarius build later, probably the poison corpse explosion stuff. Someone mentioned it played like wiz explosive blast speed builds so that should be fun lol

Should you not be running +40 essence passive instead of the +dmg from curse? That is 20% more dmg from your cube weapon and singularity also does more dmg.

Technically Curse can give a higher % bonus when you have 15-20 enemies cursed. But, yeah, with Singularity, and against Elites/Rift Guardians, its not even a competition. Essence all the way.

I started late this week end, and got 70 on Sunday night, so I'm still trying stuff around and experimenting with what I drop. So far it's fun. I didn't see anyone with the pestilence set yet. Anyone tried that yet?

In the past I've usually associated that set with the standing damage bonus being most important, but right now with Rathma that 50% dmg reduc carried me from GR70 to 80. It was the last "recommended" gear I actually needed. Now I just need better rolls on stuff. The slow progress.
