She's been a bitch lately : / For the most part I think uhh, the first two? girls (I don't remember how many chapters/girls there were sorry) were both kinda bleh. The cover girl was a bit whack (felt more like a plot device), and the final chapter was pretty good. Unlike G-Sen I felt like the last chapter "made the game" whereas in G-Sen I felt like the prologue was awesome and then it started falling apart, hahah.
Her route isn't bad. I'm satisfied with the writing for the most part, it's just that this girl's dark side has reared its ugly head >.>
And that's disappointing to hear; I was thinking of playing G-Sen next.

Ecael has a different perspective on G-Sen, mostly to do with how it ends. I dislike how it ends, and is a major factor why I disliked the ending to another, more recent and HUGELY acclaimed VN (won't say the name because it'd hint you to the end to the other when you finish one, hahah). My biggest problem (and something Ecael concedes) is that it runs into the same problem as Death Note and Code Geass, which is that the writer wasn't smart enough to keep up the intellectual charade. The prologue brought chills down my spine with how well it was written and acted (Fukuyama Jun doing his Lulu voice) but after that it degenerated into some really stupid mystery fail. It didn't help that the "rivalry" was never properly built-up for several reasons, and they let slip a really stupid hint............... in the last chapter, which contradicted the previous chapters, which made you go "oh, duh" and that was that.

Would you recommend G Senjo after Sharin no Kuni?
Edit: Next time I should refresh before posting. -.-

Ah. That's what really turned me off about Code Geass and Death Note. It such a huge facepalm for me.
But it has Fukuyama Jun? That's pretty damn enticing.

Fukuyama Jun does a startlingly large amount of VNs, hahah. The other referenced game that I won't refer to by name, the one that's hugely acclaimed, also has Fukuyama Jun. Actually that one has a retardedly studded cast, like all of the Suzumiya Haruhi cast, Wakamoto, etc. Absolutely bonkers. Edit: Ikari Shinji, Ratsel, Char, some other gundam girl...
High quality production, it was charming, but that end T_T
I don't know if I would "not" recommend G-Sen, just as I wouldn't "not" recommend Sharin, they're both good, solid VNs, I just felt disappointed by them. Not so much by G-Sen, because as I said the final chapter was pretty breathtaking.

Sharin has Wakamoto, but I don't recognize any of the other seiyuus.
How is this mystery game's title a spoiler? ;/

Because when you finish G-Sen you'll have a good feel for how the other VN's last chapter will look, and vice versa. Hahah. Their final chapters are extremely similar, both in how they blindside you, and in their scenario.
|
At least put it in a spoiler tag, so we can spoil ourselves, heh.
As usual, thanks for your recommendation and review. I guess I'll check it out regardless, because if Sharin no Kuni is any indication I will enjoy it.

It's a good work, I'm just viciously picky.
like similar take but I am generally less harsh and don't mind random drama so you are like meh and I am just like lolol cool~ as long as it is entertaining I am happy, whether it is outstanding or not is a whole different matter
so says Ecael.

+ Show Spoiler [Sharin] +Is there a Ririko (main guy's sister) route? I feel like she will show up eventually and have a route, considering that her and the lead have intense feelings for each other.

The best answer I can give you is that I don't really wanna comment, because I feel like answering either way would lead you to hints.
+ Show Spoiler [but if you really want an answer] +Dun think I can call that an answer but there is a Ririko end.
By the way for comparison's sake, Sharin did quite well overall in Japanese reviews (some called it a "god-level" game) while G-Sen did "good" but not great. So when you finish Sharin and you try G-Sen just be aware that you're stepping down a little in quality... otherwise you'll end up like me after finishing Steins;Gate and going AHHHHHHHHHHHH EVERYTHING SUUUUUUUUUUUUCKS.

+ Show Spoiler +I figured, because there are five ending slots, which I assumed meant one for each heroine, Ririko, and then a harem end.

Interesting, because the WP articles specifically mentioned that G-Sen won the grand prize in the 2008 awards, while there is no section in the Sharin article. But that might be because nobody wrote it yet. :|
vvv That might be another explanation. Oh, well. :D
|
Hahah, I went to double-check on jade. 2008 just sucked, there was SMG which is considered pretty godly (although I can't bring myself to keep reading it), and then G-Sen, and then... ef and 11eyes. And then you drop all the way down to a freaking fandisc of Ayakashibito/Bullet Butlers. I'm a bit surprised (or I guess I shouldn't be considering I can't even get to the actual story portion of SMG) that G-Sen managed to trump it for that prize, but yeah.
|
Southlight and I were both just like 'Wait, how did gsen do that well' and both remembered how bad a year 2008 was in that regard.

The description of it sounds...meh.

It's a fascinating premise, the problem is that I hate the characters' guts. They irritate me to no end. But then again I'm the type of person who struggles to stand stuff like School Rumble (though I liked Clannad/LB so when Ecael and I pondered, we kinda boiled it down to "mental maturity of characters") so take that as you will. I can see it being a good read, I just... the characters, they're too big of a roadblock
