Now, I just finished Angel Beats and while I thought it was enjoyable, it wasn't really what I was looking for when I asked him for his best ones. Is Bakemonogatari on the same level as Angel Beats? Should I find something else to watch (recommendplz) or should I go with Bakemonogatari?
Also, if you're going to recommend me one, please for the love of god leave out slice of life, especially school ones. I haven't seen a non-school based anime in sooooooooo long. Watch Monster. I can't think of anything else as well written and enjoyable as this. Ahaha, your friend trolled you. Angel Beats and Bakamonogatari. Ahaha. Huge collection indeed.
You should watch School Days.
Lol in all seriousness, try out Clannad and Clannad:After Story. Those and Angel Beats are both made from Key, but I'm pretty sure Clannad/After Story is arguably Key's best produced series.
If you don't mind gore, Elfen Lied is an interesting watch.
If you're into seinen romance, REC was a nice short little series (that's not based in the school setting).

I don't see any, but the extent of my search was "it's not on Tokyo Toshokan oh well" lol

Sent said it'd be up around Tuesday according to sources. I'd be very interested in seeing if the translations deal with all the historical references later on and if they do, if they can keep up that schedule :3

yea seeing as how the L/N's are hardly light. I hear just the prologue is like 100 pages, should be interesting how they tackle it. That and the premise itself.

It took me 30 minutes to translate the first two pages. Then I gave up.

Fate Zero + Show Spoiler + Oh damn this one has a much darker theme than fate stay night. Definitely the part about Sakura being violated by insects shows this. I really like this pilot episode. It showed alot of the personality of the character in just 1 episode.
So far servant and master seems to be...
Tohsaka - Archer, Gilgamesh Emiya - Saber - King Arthur Priest dude - Assasin - Worm dude - (Caster? He just looks like a caster) School Kid - (Berserker? Seems that way from the closing theme) ??? - Lancer ??? - Rider
How the fuck do you get Gilgamesh from a snake skin?

That's not too bad, translations always take me at least 30+mins per page ><

I'm a pretty veteran (albeit lazy and thus retired) translator, so it's pretty rare for me to take THAT long on pages. Usually a full light novel would take me up to 30 hours total, which is like 10 pages per hour. This is why I get a lot of ribbing by people for not translating - it's purely laziness :<
So when I take 30 minutes to translate like the first two introductory pages of a book it's like phew.

Its from the epic of Gligamesh, I wont go through all of it but in short
GIlgamesh tries to achieve immortality. (long story as to why, well not that long but still long enough) Gets some plant that'll help him do it after alot of hard work. Snake eats said plant when Gligamesh isnt paying attention and gets the immortality instead. Gilgamesh despairs since he is unable to prevent his destined death(since everybody dies duh..)
So yeah snakes pretty important.
+ Show Spoiler +Rider is summoned by Waver(school kid) from the cape. Its Alexander. Worm dude (Zouken) has nothing. And Berserker is going to Kariya since hes balls at magic so they try to compensate by getting the one with supposedly the most raw power.
|
But if the snake immortal by eating the plant, how is there a corpse of a snake in the first place? lolz
|
being immortal just means it cant die naturally. Not that it cant be killed, but tbh I dont know I read it in college for a class but I dont think that info was made clear anyway.
Also its not a corpse. Its shedded skin I believe, skin gets shed all the time.
edit: and yeah the Elfen Lied manga is pretty nice. Significantly more tragic but good closure.

Ah well that sucks. If I was a baller like Gilgamesh and got my immortality stolen by a snake I would probably be a sad puppy too :/

Clannad: After Story is most definitly Key's best serie even tho Clannad and Kanon 2006 are also awesome.

For Lied the anime like 60 odd chapters I think ? So you could watch the show and switch cliffhanger at the end is different but aside from that it stays pretty true. If interested.

Re: Gilgamesh, the snake sheds right in front of him as it leaves the scene of the crime. It is that specific shedding.

Well although the first episode of F/Z wasn't exactly action-driven or too exciting, I think they did a good job of getting all of this out of the way. At least they didn't bullshit with the hero summonings. We got to see most of them. Also, based on the ED song we're in for 1 hell of a series.
