this film is highly entertaining while at the same time confusing due to the way it is shot. the film begins at the end and then works itself backwards. every ten minute section is in full color and is then divided by a long black and white scene where hes taking a phone call about his plans for revenge. at the end of the movies, the two scenes converge at the end of the movie. you would probably have to think about the film after watching it in order to truly understand what happened. good will hunting - about a young man who is an amazing genius comparable to the likes of da vinci or archimedes. but he grew up in the slums and never had a chance to show it until some professor discovers his abilities. however, this kid, being the genius that he is, doesn't want what the professor does. will hunting, played by matt damon, wants a life of mediocrity whereas his professor wants to showcase his talents to the rest of the world. this movie launched matt damon's and ben affleck's careers. they co-wrote this and won an academy award for it due to its intense and intricate verbal dialogue and highly original screenplay. an amazing film with amazing actors; definitely worth a watch. dogma - hilarious and darkly thought provoking film about a couple of exiled angels trying to get back in heaven not realizing that if they do so the universe ends as they would have undone god's will. featuring an ensemble cast including the likes of chris rock, matt damon, ben affleck, and salma hayek (the dude who plays snape in the harry potter movies is in here too), this movie is highly entertaining and well made. vastly satirical about the catholic church but directed by a catholic director (kevin smith--mallrats, chasing amy, clerks, jay and silent bob etc.). very tongue in cheek. oceans 11, 12, 13 - top notch funny heist movies with all star crew (brad pitt, george clooney, matt damon, julia roberts, andy garcia). only 12 is kinda meh but 11 and 13 are definitely worth the watch. the informant - about a top corporate executive turning whistle blower for the fbi. too bad for both sides he's bipolar. was kinda meh with 3-4 funny moments. it would be confusing if you didn't know what actually happened since this movie is based on real events (adm's price fixing in the lysine business). the movie is fast paced, jumping many years in between scenes and doesn't seem to merit the rating of 'R' that it has. boondock saints - lolololololol violence lolololololol gunshots lolololol violence cult classic bad(ass) movie. two irish brothers exact their vigilante justice upon the mobs. the aviator - biopic of howard hughes (famed aviator and multibillionaire and director of Scarface). the dude was crazy man. had tons of money and talent but was absolutely donkeyfucking crazy. that's probably due to his obsessive-compulsive disorder though ![]() directed by martin scorsese and starring his golden boy leonardo di caprio so you know its fucking good. very cleverly done (first 50 minutes scenes only appear in red and cyan to emulate the early movie industry that hughes was a big part of)

Conspiracy.com -> meh/ok. Home -> Good District 9 -> Good Fast & Furious -> urg... pure crap (as all the FF's). The Wrestler -> Awesome. Gran Torino -> Awesome. Btw: I watched Memento about 3-4 times, every time you notice things you didn't before.

![]() The Hangover I hadn't heard anything about this, and the trailer wasn't too promising either, but the movie was actually hilarious. Don't expect anything witty, it's just a shallow but very funny film. 4/5

9 - Terrible. Graphically it was decent, but there wasn't too much of a plot; stuff just seemed to happen. And apparently, (most of) the stitchpunks will do anything 9 suggests. Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs - Totally loved this movie. This exceeded my expectations. One of my favorite movies of the year. Toy Story/Toy Story 2 3D - For a movie that wasn't initially made for 3D, this movie transitioned very well. The 3D enhanced the movie experience and was seamless in adding depth in the movie. Where The Wild Things Are - This movie was weird. A majority of the movie takes place on the island and even though it has its moments, it kinda lost me there. It's definitely not a children's movie even though it's based off the children's book. Zombieland - Not quite as good as Shaun of the Dead, but it's a pretty good comedic zombie movie. Loved a certain cameo.

How did you and Christian Bale develop his character in American Psycho? It was definitely a process. We talked a lot, but he was in L.A. and I was in New York. We didn’t actually meet in person a lot, just talked on the phone. We talked about how Martian-like Patrick Bateman was, how he was looking at the world like somebody from another planet, watching what people did and trying to work out the right way to behave. And then one day he called me and he had been watching Tom Cruise on David Letterman, and he just had this very intense friendliness with nothing behind the eyes, and he was really taken with this energy. I just about burst out laughing when I read this, and in the spirit of the season I just had to see the movie again. + Show Spoiler [lawl] + ![]() ![]()

+ Show Spoiler + Although the plot originally seemed sort of lame from what little I had heard about it, the film was a pleasant surprise. If you like turn-of-the--19th-centry-setting, mad science and intricate plots revolving around stage magic, this is well worth the time. ![]() Repo + Show Spoiler + Jesus christ, this has to be close to the worst movie ever. And believe me, I've got a pretty odd taste in films, so I generally like sub-cult appeal films, but this fails on every level possible. Anthony Stewart Head, why'd you agree to play here? ![]() Avoid like the plague. ![]()

Napoleon (1927) by Abel Gance- for the xxth time, this is perhaps my favourite French film of all time. In many ways resembling a symphony more than a film. Also watched Tim Burton's Ed Wood, which was a fun film wherein Martin Landau's Bela Lugosi is eerily similar to the original.
