I sort of think maybe that's why the avatar state didn't trigger because Korra actually really was never in danger when Amon and his henchman captured her. I think if he started to try to take her bending away the Avatar state would trigger in response to it. Even with the fact that she lacks the spiritual side, I really doubt an Avatar will not automatically go into the avatar state when his/her bending is about to be taken away.

When is it uploaded on the website? 1 day or 2 days after it aired?

I agree with the "re-learning would be boring" sentiment. It's not like Pokemon where every season they get 8 badges, 5 new pokemon and a new 10 year old girl to travel with. Changing the formula is nice. We already know how Earth, Water and Fire gets taught. We spent many episodes watching it happen to Aang.
I also theorise that a second season would be titled something like "Spirit" since it's already been so heavily hinted that Korra is out of touch with her spiritual duties. No spirit world, no talks with previous Avatars and not even one instance of Avatar Mode.
I wonder if there's also a possibility that Korra will learn chi blocking and mixes it in with her combat?
Also, thought Korra appears to have "mastered" 3 of the 4 bending arts, her skills aren't of a high master level. Advanced bending like lightning or metal hasn't come from her, and a lot of her techniques are small combat techniques. Large scale and non-combat techniques have almost been non-existant. I wonder if that's just building to the "bigger fights" where she'll use them, or whether this links in to a personal issue with Korra? (character development~)

she'd be imbalanced with 4 elements + chiblocking

Ok so who else is really excited for more of Asami Sato, the girl who Mako met? I get a really good Azula-esque vibe from her, potential super villain ^^

As for the episode, it was another solid episode, but one small gripe. + Show Spoiler +When Korra was found by Tenzen, Korra's voice actor did not sound believable enough to me. It sounded really forced. I know it might be weird to hear, but it really pulled me out of the episode.
Can't wait for more pro-bending and Amon is already a cooler villain than Ozai.

How could she not be? I mean they introduced her by getting a date with the protagonists obvious crush. She's the daughter of a rich person in charge of an automoble industry that no doubt has some form of corruption written all over his face.
I'm much more excited about Tophs daughter than I am about Asami to be frank.

I would say the reason is alot of people deal with fear/depression so differently that forcing a VA to do one thing is not easy. But I agree.

So apparently, according to one of the animators LeSean Thomas, the series is going on hiatus after this weekend.
Seriously? We're 5 episodes in and they are already going on hiatus? And here I was thinking that I'd have something AWESOME to watch during, and beyond the Great Pony Drought. Why do they need to stop? And for how long?
Someone please clarify this. I hope this isn't true.
