Question for people who like to pay attention to small details. In Episode 3 Mako actually lends his scarf to Korra to borrow for better cover or maybe protection? (Mako when he is with Asami he says that he wears his dad's scarf because it makes him feel safe with it on) . Korra uses it to hurl the guy to break the pipes ( Don't think Bolin told her it was his dad, because I sure she wouldn't have used it like if she knew). Korra appears after Mako and Bolin are defeated by the guy with the two electrified rods, without her coat or Mako's scarf. I'm wondering where they both went. I was thinking maybe Naga has it but then she calls Naga and he appears from somewhere as if he was waiting for her somewhere else. If she put it on Naga she would have appeared behind her and also Naga seems to be carry nothing with her. So it brings my question again. Where'd the scarf and coat go? Then it cuts right after they escape with Korra back on Air temple island. In episode 4, we see Mako again with the scarf and I am wondering how he got it back. It is certain that it was Mako's scarf that Korra was wearing because Mako was not wearing it and it looks like the same scarf.

4th episode was pretty good. I do hope Korra goes out from Republic City and ventures off into the world real soon. I really loved when Aang and the crew went to different places like the Mysterious Jungle Tree Forest place with the swamp and the floating air temples and all that stuff

Just about every Equalist knows how to chi block like Ty Lee; they might not be as acrobatic as her (which is contestable from what we've seen with the upper tier Equalist members) but they got the basics down pretty tightly. I would like more of Mai's throwing knives (like Maes Hughes from FMA), but what I've seen from Amon's lieutenant (electric powered kali sticks), I'm fine with it.

Oh and a little interesting tidbit I found on some other sites regarding Amon's namesake:

Yeah I know the Equalists are chi blockers like Ty Lee, but the characters themselves brought so much life into the story. Especially with Azula's background. I know its just the first 4 episodes but having those 2 with the evil person in the story (Azula) was so satisfying and made great foils. Maybe I am just a sucker of cute girls who just kick ass and find their own meaning and way instead of take orders! Currently Amon doesn't have those "sidekick" people that create commentary and background they way Mai and Ty Lee did to Azula (with the flashbacks on how they grew up and the side stories of Mai and Zuko, etc). Really really really hope more dynamic characters such as these come into play.

And reading a few posts back, I also agree on how an Iroh character is dearly missed <3. Its hard to recreate such a beautiful character.

I agree man, in A:TLA the 'evil' characters we're well known and we spent a significant amount of time with them whereas Amon is certainly a mystery. It's a different approach but it's working well so far. I'm just hoping they introduce more characters as the series advances, and make everything more centered about a group of people rather than just Korra. I'm sure they will though, Mako and Bolin sure got their thing going.
Try another route paperboy.

I also hope they have other mysterious powers that are new to this series. In TLA, the new forms of bending unknown to us - blood bending, metal bending, and lightning bending, nearly blew my mind due to epic nerdgasms. I am also interested in what kind of spiritual or mythical monsters/creatures they are going to come up with. Maybe they wont though since the world is is more steampunk rather than the old mythological, nature-like feel in TLA.

I wonder if there is going to be a another form of bending with air. because water has blood, earth has metal and fire has lightning. so it seems only air is left out. I think i'll be something with sound (soundbending??) but it's hard to theorize because air is almost so straightforward...

It makes sense that air was left out. For the longest time, there was only one person who could air bend, so it never was fully develop as the other types of bending.

You do realize that Mai, Ty Lee and Azula were all introduced in Season 2 of TLA, right?

Perhaps this theory has already been thrown out there but I have a hunch Korra is going to have her bending sealed and the Books are going to revolve around her relearning all of her bending. Air will be first.

problem with your theory is that amon has already stated he wont take her bending away until the very end after he has executed all his other plans. and i dont understand how you can "Re-learn" something like bending, its not like he takes away their knowledge of how to bend.

Well Amon could easily be lying. I mean, if Korra cornered him in a fight in the next couple of episodes he could easily take her bending out of desperation.

And as far as re-learning it goes, if it's a sort of permanent chi-block then she'd have to relearn how to use her chi. Sorta like Aang had to do to unlock the avatar state except much more involved.

I mean, if they have an "Air" book then they're going to have "Fire," "Water," and "Earth" books as well. With TLAB Aang mastered each bending in the respective book and it appears that that pattern is continuing with LOK.

Gotta say, I'm loving the series so far. Of course I loved TLA as well, but LOK really hit the mark with their combination of steampunk and action.

Episode 4 just made me love it more, it gives you a hint to what Amon's final plan is, and shows a weaker side of Korra. It also shows that Korra is maturing too because she's realizing that Amon isn't someone you can just go up to and say "oh im just gonna kick his ass" like the other people shes fought.

For those who thought that Amon letting Korra go was kind of James Bond villain-ish, if you listen to his explanation of it, he actually has a pretty good point. He wants to take over republic city with his revolution first, then move on to the world. If he takes away her bending too soon, people won't acknowledge the revolution and see Amon as the bad guy who destroyed the symbol of peace (the avatar). I'm guessing when he figures he has enough followers, then he will publicly challenge her to show everyone what nonbenders can do, spreading his revolution across the world.

the entire mini series was written on the premise that korra has basically mastered all but air bending and it would be set in 1 city so that it could be a lot shorter

heres a wild prediction. You know how Amon can take people bending away? but he uses a different techniq than aang. What if he can only take the physical side of bending. Then one day he takes korra bending away and shes only force to use the spiritual side of bending. it would kinda suck her relearning all her bending though.

anyways i hope its as epic as the last airbender since it went on to 4 seasons.

I really think when Amon goes to take Korra's bending away he will trigger the avatar state and badassness will then commence.

I'm super psyched for this series too! Glad there's a site for it on Team Liquid

One thing I noticed though, how do people know Amon can really take away bending permanently? When he put on his big show he took away a few peoples' bending, but it only showed the immediate effects. Any of his henchmen can take away bending for a little while as they showed earlier in the episode.

I mean I'm not saying I think he can't take away their bending, but if I was in attendence at the "Revelation", I wouldn't be so easily convinced

Wohoho. So true. Now that I think of it, in episode 1 here mentors told here that she has yet to master the spiritual side of any of the elements, though she excelled in the physical.

There's a simple approach as to why this won't be the case.

TLA was all about introducing the world and the bending itself, it was fun to experience this and learn about everything. Now in TLK if this would be the same again people would be pretty bored, also they kinda designed the whole beginning of the series that bending is a pretty normal thing and people that watch it already know it. So sealing her bending skills and letting her "re-learn" it would be a big step backwards.

The producers of the series are very smart people, I enjoyed the hell out of TLA. Letting Korra relearn everything would have such a big "bad influence" on the show that they won't do it.

Thats why I already enjoy this show so much, everything is already established and even if you watched TLA you are excited about the story because it is on a new level.
