Im not that impressed. They got awesome dewarding, but that series was more VP playing bad, than LGD playing good. Not to mention VP didn't do anything different, they are playing the same heroes / strats. And the way to beat a chinese team is to put them out of their comfort zone.
Kuro knows how to do it.

Liquid looked much much better, but optic is a weaker opponent so it’s natural. Still I’d put it around 60:40 for liquid.

I think Liquid only made one mistake the whole series when matu pushed a little too far on brood game 2. But probably that was because the game was already over at that point, I don’t think he gets that greedy if they are feeling behind.

The feeling I got from the optic series is that liquid will only lose if they pick pudge techies

Liquid beat LGD with first phase broodmother. I'm not giving LGD 40%, but I hope they at least make this competitive. I was on a boat for last year's dream run and didn't get to watch it live, so it'd be nice to get to see some close games before liquid takes it home

They need to not overthink drafts as badly as they did today. It felt like they tried to be next level but ended up with garbage drafts both times.

Only the PL last pick when LGD had one more pick and got even more aoe clear seems questionable to me
EDIT: although LGD picked it vs gyro/io too with a pick remaining so obviously the pros know something I don't
EDIT2: oh it's so you charge and kill Io making wisp and easy kill, makes sense
yeah So drafts were okay

LGD just outclassed them this series, not that Liquid would be playing bad (not stellar tho), but LGD was just on another level. Hope the cards will turn when they meet in grand finals

As for drafts, Im far from being an expert, but did LGD have two consecutive last picks? What gives? To me it seemed like each time the 10th pick (both time LGD) was game-changing. Not saying that it would necessarily change the outcome, but definitely how onesided the game would be.

Liquid got comfort picks. Kuro said he liked their draft. They just misunderstood what LGD wanted to do. If anyone can adjust to a bad loss, it's Liquid. I still think they'll reach the finals.

Seems like second pick these days is a marble. Wonder why Kuro decided to get first pick two times in a row.
LGD played good, yes, but those were two outdrafts. First time it was our mistake. second one just a nice draft from LCD, ofcourse they played awesome. That helped as well.
Good thing for us now there will be more Liquid games.

Game 1 was unfortunate as some good pick offs hasten the end. But game 2 was a no stun draft. What do you expect.

Both lgd last picks were huge

Liquid needed this if they wanted to get to the next level, now is do or die.
