Being somewhat out of practice is understandable because of the tournament schedule and the amount of traveling, which leaves little time to sit down and scrim a lot. You also don't want to completely burn yourself out before really grinding for TI. But that is the same for every team near the top of DPC and not Liquid specific.
They've completely gone away from their GH-centric play from around TI. No first pick Keeper push strats, no Earthshaker, very little Io (and when they do it seems unpracticed). They went from picking from a limited pool of successful heroes and spicy lastpicks to all over the place post TI, which I can only interpret as an attempt at expanding their hero-pool/ strategies.
Keeper, Earthshaker, Lone Druid, Invoker, Prophet, Lycan, Bristleback, Necrophos, Huskar, Slardar, Alchemist, Spirit Breaker, all commonly picked heroes from around TI7 that they've mostly abandoned.
Matumbaman has been pushed further into 3 position territory while MC seems to have become more of a priority and an anchor to their draft. They pick different stuff every tournament and they don't seem to have any preconceived draft planning and strategies, as opposed to TI where they had clear strategies and predictable (solid) drafting.
It doesn't feel like Liquid is playing to win atm and I find it very frustrating to watch. It feels dishonest to watch teams compete that don't have much incentive to win.

I am pretty sure all the Top teams play to win at all times. relax and just watch them, they will be fine;)

I mean, VP may be the top team at the moment but it's a complete joke that anybody would think that they're anywhere near as consistent as Liquid. Consistent is not your captain taking a break and having to change your roster even after winning a major.
I don't know. Liquid hasn't been at their best since the big post-TI balance patch but I do believe they're slowly getting better. Drafts are taking more risks again, GH's hero pool is slowly increasing and his old heroes are getting more buffs, and I think right now their main goal should be getting ready for TI. Of course, they want to win now and do their best, but I think they also understand that doing whatever it takes to win these tournaments is short sighted. If experimentation expands their knowledge but costs them a couple of tournament wins, I'm fine with that. There are plenty of teams who relied on limited strategies to win tournaments who just eventually fell off especially at TI because they relied too heavily on those strats.
Also, Liquid clearly just sucks at bo1s. I think we just gotta accept it and not overthink about the results of them.

My sleep schedule is a nightmare so I watched the first game mainly in the background while I paid more attention to the second. Didn't care for the first but Liquid looked really good against Optic, love how well Kuro did on the NP. No failed high ground push, it's a nice sign and I hope they keep it up.

Very good day with 2 solid games from the boys. Lets hope we get top 2 tommorow!

Very solid games. Matu really making a case for his Lone Druid. So much impact in the laning stage without any assistance, it really allows Kuroky and GH to collapse on the sidelanes as they please.

Is Liquid high or something? WHY THE FUCK IS THERE A MID RUBICK!? LMAOOOOOOO

The draft ended up fine, but the execution again wasnt there. Still for stupid things like a mid rubick i love this team, even thought they rip apart my nerves xD

this is the reason you dont play BO1 ... BO2 group > all

I'd also like to confess that I was asleep until the very end of the game and I woke up for a few seconds after hearing casters through my headphones across the bed and I immediately see Matu trying to rat. It was some of the weirdest shit I've ever woken up to.
