Their problem is the Naga pick. They haven't utilized Naga well since DAC last year and that was core. They just had their first sleep that had any impact almost 40 minutes in.

Miracle SF is now 4 wins and 9 losses on Liquid, it's his worst hero by a mile. I'm not sure why they won't pick Earth Spirit or Earth Shaker for GH either.

Edit: third draft is looking a lot better, just need a run at them hero for matu now.

Edit 2: Brood, gg!
I think esports is pretty nice.

That went super well. I was a bit worried after Game 2, but then they just stomped them with a brood. Super weird draft from Secret, but i take that;)

Weird draft indeed. Everyone has been winning with Terrorblade so I don't understand why Secret didn't first pick or ban the hero in that last game. They tried to draft a lineup to run over Liquid in the early game but they forgot Liquid are the best early game team in pro Dota and so far 7.09 seems VERY good for them.

I think Secret also really didnt expect the brood last pick. Did you see their faces after the draft? It was like "Damn we fucked up".

still TB seems like the easy choice to win everything, I dont understand it either.

It's time for some Miracle Sven and Enigma MC.

Anyway great games so far!

I don't think any team with 1st pick has opened their draft with TB. It's always a later pick or if it's in the 1st phase it has been picked by the 2nd pick team when they already see one hero from the enemy or by the 1st pick team as the last pick of the first phase. Liquid didn't pick it themselves in the 1st phase in either game 1 or 2 even though it wasn't banned. So not sure why Secret would suddenly 1st ban it.

The main issue with the draft was just that the Brood made the lanes really uncomfortable for Secret. Bat was the only one who could even try to do something against Brood (and even he got crushed) and Liquid also had the upper hand in the TB+Chen lane, which made it impossible for Secret to rotate mid to keep the Brood down.

Ah well they missed the window when they pushed the top lane at 37m and lost 4, with Ursa and Chen being weak heroes to goes to late-game, Liquid was pretty much doomed to lose after that team fight.

Gg wp, good luck next time.

Not much to say about hat game, VG had a better lategame draft and Liquid couldn't finish it. I think the obvious flaw was their carelessness in game 1 where they couldn't have been winning harder and played as if they couldn't lose.
I think esports is pretty nice.

classic throwliquid, back to ""It's not the winning but the taking part that counts" i feel, everybody satisfied with the umpteenth placement when it matters, like "ok at least no TI winner curse!". That's bullshit, the team is insanely good but it always chocke at the crucial moments for the last six months, games under control throwed, randomic drafts and obviously not always your advantage in skill of the players cover this shit. Watching now the important games of the boys is painful, expecially knowing what they can do and achieve when they play at their level. Both series vs VG they were in the lead throughout at least 2 of the lost games and they couldn't close them, this is worrysome because it's becoming an habit. I don't know what they can do to solve this situation but i have a feeling that doing nothing and believing that the next time will be ok will bring no changes. I know that's impossible to win every game and tourney, but to repeatedly lose games in this way (before was Secret, now it seems VG the kryptonyte) and never showing the dominant way of draft and execute they had at TI (and i think is not an issue of meta because they have even now so many confort heros that are strong and pushing strats are really good now) it's not a good sign

Bullshit, we still won a lot of tournaments in the last six month. The ones we didn't win, we still placed top 3. It's really hard these days, to stay on top all the time, a lot of teams are very good. Plz don't make this so dramatic, liquid doesn't have big issues. On some days other teams are just a bit better. If u look back at other strong teams in the past, those also didn't win everything. And before TI we also didn't win everything btw.

I'm definitely not satisfied but I'd probably regret sharing my full thoughts just moments after their loss.

Yep it is hard, but i don't like Banging the head against the wall. As we all saw Vici Play just 10 heroes with naga / bat the core of all of them. Just BAN the naga, it eats all the reset they have. Why risk it?
Its clear that Kuro learned from Puppey he is the only other captain so stubborn, willing to risk losing just to prove they can outplay opponents best strategy. Even if you prove you can its not worth the risk.
It is the year of the Chinese Teams in TI. If we want to break the curse risking drafts vs top teams is not the way to do it.
