Secret's really the only top team that underachieves every time. VG is expected to win, and they generally do. C9 is expected to do well and then flop near the end, then they do. EG is always expected to lose against the favourites in the semis or finals for some reason, and somehow overachieve (except at MLG, lol).

Secret is basically hyped to win tournaments or lose only to VG or something, and have really only made one LAN finals. So basically they're C9, just without the spectacular throws.

I dont hate/dislike secret its just that i am a loser by heart, so i almost allways root for the underdog. In secrets case this means i root for the other team or both booted players. I do hope they get their shit together tho, they are our western hope together with eg+c9 against the chinese hammerfists!

The summit and ESL, both loss against VG, DAC was VG then EG

so basically they have only underperform (according to you Secret is expected to A) reach a finals or B) lose against VG*) in their last LAN, every other LAN has been a loss to the team that its expected to win (and generally do), and they won the other 2 online tournaments.

Nothing out of the ordinary, they did what they had to, except in the last SL...

*B) its basically because if VG is expected to win --> you are supposed to lose to them.

"I expect us to get roflstomped at every LAN " would be better ?

There was another Starladder in there as well.

But the expectation that they can only lose to VG is more that Secret's viewed frequently as the only competition against the top Chinese teams...which is just as much Eastern bias as it is Secret.

Really, if you swap EG and Secret's results in the last 7 months, that's basically what the fanbase and the betting odds tend to say about either team.

interesting discussion you have here going on about nothing really...

those of us, who are realists see what is going on, those who are not are not, period, you will not be able to persuade them...

i'm looking forward to the upcoming LAN events and good dota, if they perform, great, if not, well whatever. but you always expect your team to play for the win otherwise there is no point...

Yes, they reach the finals and lost to EG

but my point is that you say that they always underperform, yet the way you see things, their results (besides last SL) its just what it should have been.

Im just saying that while fanboys are wrong with them being unbeatable or the best team world, naysayers, who say this team sucks and bla bla bla... are also wrong.

Secret needs to decide whether they want to be a team that revolves around Arteezy farming vs. a team that revolves around their early/mid game rotations, and I think this patch helps them do that.

First off, the late-game style that Secret tried to use at SL12 took a hit, and they ought to see that, and move away from that style because it already wasn't working for them in 6.83.

Second, with the first 10-15 minutes taking on greater importance, and all of Puppey's signature jungle heroes - Chen, Enchantress, and Enigma - being buffed, that's screaming a specific style, and Secret needs to listen, and not shut him out.

Third, Zai needs to work out his issues with Puppey & Kuroky, whatever they are, because his performance in SL 12 was shit and looked to be that of a guy who no longer cares.

Provided the above occurs, Secret's easily capable of running a style in which they control the game early on with Puppey's jungle heroes, and then transitions into S4 rotating to play 4p1 while Arteezy farms. Of course, it's preferred for Arteezy to get active, but I haven't seen Arteezy do that very well in the past with Secret, so small steps first.

At the end of the day everything for secret going forward is reliant upon rtz learning to play the carry role instead of the farmer role

Oh man, I needed a lot of time to finally find out, what 1D is...too old for that shit

All those talks aside; when is the next chance to find out how Secret are doing atm and with the new patch? Anyone knows the next match?

Wish people would stop using results of the pre-Arteezy/Zai Secret in these discussions. Two new players and one of the existing ones switching from 1 to 5 means it's a completely new team. As of now, Secret has a third place DAC finish after a 15-0 group stage and not much else that can really be attributed to them.

Do you think S4 is a one direction fan ? I'd have thought this guy played amateur dota and had some interrest in competitive like Jeremy Lin (the nba player from houston rockets you see in the TI documentary)
