the main problem with secret atm is that they dont play as a team, and so they dont have a level of comfort other teams do. yes, their roster is rather peculiar in the way it runs, but they should try to recognize this deeper than just one tricore strat

and also not bash your head against what is clearly the strongest hero in the meta. puppey beat naga back in TI2 but he only beat it for a couple games. we can remember wisp at TI3 and now sniper at SL

But what matters most is the way they lost, they looked desperate, lost, no real coordination or map awareness, which in DAC and in other games were their biggest skills, knowing when to and when not, amazing teamfights, be cool in jaws of defeat, etc... They looked like a complete different team.

1 tournament its nothing compared to the big scheme, and who knows they may destroy everyone next tournament, but things will have to change (NO, im not talking about players or disband lol)

Agree. Wake up call for the team.

I just hope they learn from these horrible results and improve for better. So many things wrong in those games (Team MY and Alliance).

The new patch will be a reset, but if they don't iron out the core problems like you said (coordination ,map awareness, be sometimes aggressive early game, strategy ,etc) they will be in a big trouble. They have the potential, 5 incredible talented players, but if they don't mesh as a team and have variety in their draft and style... well that will be a problem.

Also it will be interesting to see how Secret and others teams will behave now with the Dota Majors. Will they work together to improve and get better instead of shuffling fast?

The biggest price that they need to win is to fix those problems and losing is one of the best teachers if you have the correct attitude. They have LANs that can help them to fix those problems (Summit, ESL) before the International so i hope they don't go emo and shit and crumble.

Also Mason did a nice post with interesting stuff about Secret:
http://nadota.com/showthread.php?33067-Zai-and-Arteezy-should-have-stayed-with-EG&p=1056948&viewfull=1#post1056948

I wouldn't recommend anybody to read the shit posted there, it will only make you dumber... also all the euro hate is insane

i thought mason's post was pretty good. regardless if u agree with him or not, i think they are valid points from a spectator's view.

I agree with him re: RTZ. RTZ is a great mid carry but only a decent safelane carry. That forces Puppey/Zai to draft around him resulting in stale and one-dimensional drafts. Of course, their loss here at Starladder can be attributed to many other factors (e.g. Zai's underperformance).

I liked the Secret with Kuro on carry alot better. In that iteration, the only weak link was Fly. All they had to do was swap out Fly out for a top tier offlaner and Secret would be a championship contender.

To be fair, top tier offlaners are probably the hardest position in pro dota to come by.

Just look at what EG had to do to keep theirs. Bribed EE to boot Aui so Universe could be with his true love again.

I don't see how you can replace the best carry in the world in 6.82 (yes that's Kuroky) with a 2 hero wonder as your carry and expect to do better.

I also don't see how taking one of the world's best position 4s and throwing him in the offlane is expected to work.

I also don't see how taking one of the most celebrated and successful mids in western dota 2 and throwing him into wherever aforementioned 2 hero wonder doesn't want to lane is going to work better than his previous role either.

This is some real revisionist history. Kuro got rekt by arteezy's lycan over and over in big games as super farmed AMs and Medusas. Kuro was not the best carry. Anyway Arteezy was by far their best player this tourney. S4 and Zai have looked awful.

I used to think S4 was the man, but in the DAC playoff and now this tourney he's looked real shaky. Dying in lane, dying out of position, dying without having any impact.

I will not say, kuro was the best when he returned to being carry, but man check those games, he was hardly super farmed when he lost to the lycan, let's be objective here... shall we

The scary thing isn't the result, but the way the team appears to be burying their head in the sand regarding said results

Adagio for Sniper.

Not that refusing to ban Sniper was their main issue. S4 and Zai playing blah really was but really fuck Sniper. Tired of seeing that hero.

In any game.

Funny how resistant people are to the idea that the team got worse with the Arteezy trade.

bandwagon at it's finest Secret loses 2 b03 then they are the worst team that should disband LMAO

i mean most pro's think rtz is really good i think you're the only one who doesn't. The old would have never gotten this kind of level of dominance where they only lose 5 b03 all time. Also DAC would have never happened for sure the old is waaayyy too inconsistent compared to the new one.

I realized it just now, but this is total humiliation for Secret. The team that won against Secret placed 5-6th. The worst possible position after winning one series. At least LC had an excuse that they can get a better place if the match up is a little different.

Seriously though, I hope they can bounce back and find their form again. With the amount of talent and experience they all have, I'm sure we'll see a lot of good games from them in the future.

If any of you Secret boys read this thread, I want you to know that you have fans who will support you no matter what

Let's put it clearly, yeah maybe Puppey once was a great captain, but frankly, I dont see anything close to a small evidence thet he still deserves this title with secret. How many time did RTZ played SF in the last monthes? I feel like each time I watch a Secret game he is playing SF (yeah, sometimes Lycan).

He still deserves some credit. Most LANs Secret went to, they were setting the metagame with hero picks.

They just had zero follow-up in any of them when other teams learned, and relied on skill and execution to win against the lesser teams.

Which is even worse. If the team itself doesn't have confidence in Puppey drafting, to the extent that they'll let someone else take the reigns at a LAN tournament, that says quite a bit.

I mean, when Zai was on EG, he certainly wasn't fighting ppd for draft control.
