Edit: To be fair Alliance deserves the invite and they have the right to complain. But it would make them good to change their mentality a bit. Yes, playing quals may lead to not qualifying but also to polishing your team-play, communication, etc, which Alliance needs to get better.
A coherent fan should support them because they are robbed of what its theirs but also slap them in the butt and send them back to practice.

Regarding the whine from A when not getting invited, I sure as hell agree with them regarding WCA, but I didn't agree with them regarding the Major they whined about.
But past those 2 whines, when have they whined about not getting an invite? I mean it's 2 invites they've whined about, one that is truly questionable (WCA) wether they are performing well or not. The other one less questionable... but presenting them with having a bad attitued and being a whiny team that expects to live on old merits yadda yadda, I don't get that. No other team would get criticized if they where unhappy not getting an invite as standing champs.

I don't really see why the tournament should invite defending champs in this case. It's a Chinese event with limited spots for EU teams. The event is also held only once a year so they would not be inviting based on a recent result. The previous WCA win already gave Alliance a big reward given that they got invited to Shanghai largely due to that win.
A bunch of events may invite defending champs but I don't think it has much to do with someone "deserving" to be there.

I am not saying it is a recurring attitude, just that it started two invites ago (the Major and this one) and hopefully it won't be dragged any longer because it is not healthy even if they are right. If they were to achieve something... for instance make invites system less shady or ruled anyhow, then yeah go on please.
Of course, a lot of teams would not be criticized, [A] is a special case just like NaVi, they have a lot of fans and a lot of haters. Watching them crash, burn and cry is for many a satisfaction. We have to deal with it.
