Wouldn't take it as evidence of anything.

So apparently, Funn1k's reason for leaving is he's getting married. Best of luck to him.

Dendi did discover Bulldog, probably a joke but not impossible. And if that's true for funn1k, congrats to him and good luck.

Dendi just denied on stream - where I was watching and heard it my damn self - he is moving to offlane.

This will never happen but I'd love to see them pick up Sing for offlane. I think it's the perfect position for him given some time to perfect the role.
I still don't believe in Goblak's captaining or play but you know. One thing at a time.

I still don't believe in Goblak's captaining or play but you know. One thing at a time. I think sing is overrated. He had a nice run with C9 at the beginning but kinda fell off. He hasn't looked any better with Tinker. Within CIS, who can Na'Vi poach? I'm they still have the money to muscle in on any team in the region and a lot of these guys may want to play with arguably the best team in the region on paper.

what about getting the whole empire roster and dendi for coach/mascot ? (only slightly serious)

Navi will kill the CIS scene. If I were an organization looking for a dota team, why the fuck I would sign a CIS team instead of an EU team just to see my best player leave the team 2-3 months before TI cause NaVi sucks?
This is so bad for the scene. Serious. I know the players have the rights to chose where he wants to play, but on long term this will kill the CIS scene.

If CIS teams were as mad about it as the fans of such teams then they would raise the salaries. I believe they get something in return (like a cancellation clause) every time they let a player leave them to join NaVi, or at least they should be doing that by now. It is they way of sports.

Um, one does not raise salaries because they're mad, one raises salaries when they can afford to.
Until Dota becomes a profitable venture for most organizations with a competent squad, all sports comparisons are void.

its not the same thing. And if it was, secret done it once, navi have been doing this for like +5 years
If there was no secret, EG would change their roster anyway, same about navi/fnatic/alliance after ti4. If there was no NaVi, empire/PR/VPP wouldnt change their roster, simple as that.

Here we go again. As it turns out XBOCT, once when he was very drunk, flirted with Dendi's cute sister. Dendi pretended not to notice but in fact he began the machinations of what can only be described as a Count of Monte Cristo level plot of revenge. The first stage was simple: break apart Na'Vi. It was simple to get rid of Puppey. All he needed to do was encourage disharmony between XBOCT and Kuroky. Every pleasant social conversation, and occasionally vital communication in key matches, Dendi would begin in his native tongue. Thus this became the language of joy and victory. The common English among the team became the tongue of discord and defeat.
Danil would not overplay his hand. He put on the face of being only concerned with victory, so when he finally capitulated it seemed the conclusion that Kuroky could no longer be on the team was truly inevitable. Of course Puppey would follow and Dendi knew that without Puppey the team stood little chance of continuing to enjoy the success which was the basis of their harmony.
But XBOCT proved resourceful, unaware as he was of the plotting of his close friend. He recruited one of the finest supports in the region. A promising young captain would follow. Dendi adapted quickly. Vanskor, the young Russian, would be immediately embraced by Danil, his idol. It was an emotional high that set him up for a crushing descent. It was made clear over time that their friendship could not survive the aggression of Vanskor's mother country. He feigned resistance to this conclusion, stretching passion to the ultimate point of tragedy that their bro-love must be destroyed by the violent ambitions of Putin over Dendi's beloved Ukraine. Vanksor slipped into a deep depression, unable to perform at his prior level.
Meanwhile Dendi had introduced Gleb to a charming young woman proclaiming herself his biggest fan. A whirlwind of romance and maelstrom of dirty sex followed. As the relationship developed Funn1k confided in Dendi that he was going to propose. This was a cause for celebration! Dendi insisted on taking Gleb out for drinks over his protests. He had been sober for three years, following a nightmare of addiction to alcohol, coke, peyote, and Chinese prostitutes. This nudge was all it took to begin a spiral of abuse, destroying Funn1k's level of play and degrading his relationship. His girlfriend, citing a belief that his Dota career had created this tragic backslide, gave him an ultimatum: it is Dota or me. Gleb made the only choice he could, proposing to her on the spot and resigning from the team the next day.
FNG had been easy enough to undermine. Dendi knew the team would move to Goblak if he could only get rid of the sparkling young captain, and there would be nothing but misery for them there. All he had to do was express his disbelief in FNG's ability to draft in the current meta. The rest of the team would follow, and soon FNG would know there was no place for him there. In the wake of their only tournament victory in many months, he was removed.
Soon it would be only Dendi, XBOCT, the emotionally broken Vanskor, and the aging and irrelevant Goblak. The team was broken, and it was now the plan could come to fruition. Feigning shock, Dendi brought to ZG a forgotten performance clause in XBOCT's contract. It was something neither of them wanted to act upon, but they were required to by their sponsors SteelSeries™, who were as ruthless in business as they were excellent at creating gamer-grade peripherals, used by all of your favorite cyber athletes. SteelSeries™! Available online and in stores at leading resellers of quality electronics, and directly at the SteelSeries™ website.
Last night was vague. There were drinks and nubile Chinese strippers. This morning was pain. Pain in the temples and light far too bright. As Alexander found himself able to focus his eyes and take in his surroundings, he was in a cage. The cage had a toilet decorated with naked girls, a futon, a giant rodent water bottle strapped to the outside, and a top-of-the-line Alienware™ performance gaming PC, with all the best SteelSeries™ peripherals. There were only two programs on the computer, he would find: Steam, and Dota2.
It was only a few minutes before a door opened in the plain, grey room containing XBOCT's cage. The light again was bright but his eyes adjusted more quickly this time. It was Dendi. Cutting off Alexander's panicked questioning he handed him a menu:
Slice of bread: 30 CS Pat of butter: 1 kill Pint of Vodka: 1 victory
"Why are you doing this, Danil? We were the best of friends."
"Friendship is precious to me Alexander. But only one thing is more precious: my sister."
XBOCT did not understand, but resigned himself that negotiations and reasoning would be futile.
"What must I do to earn my freedom."
"That is simple my friend: win TI."
"Is that all? There are those who doubt, but you know...You know. We will win TI5. This will all be over. I forgive you Danil. I love you. We will get through this."
Dendi said nothing and walked out the door. It was time to get to work. XBOCT logged into his Steam account and opened the Dota2 client. A moment of discomfort came into his mind. He opened his official information panel.
Team Tinker.

And given what Notail said about KKY / Puppey's plan, this is definitely not the last time. Actually Kuroky is trying to poach Zai from EG since TI4. You seem to be a bit delusional. This discussion is silly anyway, this is what any organisation in esport all over the world whatever the game (and even in sports) do. There is no arguing about "killing the CIS scene". Good player get really good offers from high standing organisations, that's it. And as much as I love Empire, I'd like to see them perform well once when it really matters, before you can make such arguments. If I remember correctly Navi did not ruin Empire before TI4, neither before DAC.

If the organization can't invest in their own players then it is coherent that those players will end up in "better" teams.
It is not about being mad, it is about business, and every CIS team other than NaVi should be by now doing "business" one way or another.

With the same amount of years it could potentially be the same, but given the development of the scene I doubt it a lot. Again, by now, every team should consider setting cancellation clauses when hiring players.

You've got to be pretty handicapped to think the whole 'poaching' thing is 'killing the scene' or whatever bullshit. How many here knew anything at all about FNG before he was 'poached' by Na'Vi? How many even heard the name Suma1l before the whole EG / Secret transfer debacle? Heck, back when Na'Vi 'poached' Funn1k, most people called it a terrible change and thought it'd fail because barely anyone cared about Empire back then; and hey look, Funn1k's eventual replacement Mag is doing pretty well for himself now as well.
Player transfers happen on all levels, in all of the scenes and when they do happen it's always an opportunity for less known players to make a splash. Of course it's disappointing for some fans if 'their' team loses an important player, but let's face it - a team with serious potential to win at the highest level isn't going to bleed players, just like a team that genuinely believes in themselves to be winners isn't going to kick anyone for replacements.
Nevermind that at the end of the day, roster changes happen because of individual PLAYERS, not teams. Blaming a team for wanting to get the best roster possible when someone in their lineup decides to retire / has issues with other members / doesn't practice / whatever is just......
