I also wonder when teams start realising legion is not a counter to PL. Neither is mjolnir. The 2 counters are a strong mid game push lineup, and cleave gaming.
It seemed to me like c9 could have had the opportunity to do the first thing you mentioned, push in the mid game. The LC was their one lockdown, it clears PL illusions, but maybe most importantly in that game it interrupts the stun combo that the defending team needs to burst the Gyro when he is pushing. However, after a fine start c9 lost 0-4 + tower in bottom lane quite early on, when EE was going to defend the tower with Gyro, all 5 of CDEC were smoked or whatever behind the tower almost and instead of letting him die c9 tp'd in to feed one by one. I don't think CDEC at that point of the game had any business winning a fight, however it wasn't really a fight but CDEC just getting 1 kill at a time. And then to make matters worse CDEC managed to sneak rosh and c9 was just barely late, which made it completely impossible for c9 to do anything in the game.

I didn't get to see today's games, but I was following on trackdota...sad stuff.
Will be interesting to see how they shuffle after TI.
They do still have a chance. They can still beat anyone at this tournament. Looking less and less likely that they will, though.
Anything below 1st is a disappointment but anything below at least top 8 is embarrassing.

Well it's not just about them being crappy considering the history between 2 teams c9 always lost to VG except that one time on MDL.. So i say they are pretty much done-zo
With VG's struggles and c9 winning the last series against them, I don't think the matchup is that much of an issue. It's just that c9 looks...
In quite a few games this tournament c9 drafts end up just being so uncharacteristic for them. Like if I think of c9, I think of spreading the map, trying to use it efficiently, choosing to fight when you want to fight patiently and not just brute forcing. But a lot of their drafts end up being such that their only chance is to 5 man. Against CDEC they had Wisp both games, yet they couldn't play split at all against BH+Lina. It's not c9 getting the slow and steady farm advantage, it's the opposing team. Same could be said about their drafts against coL.

Have they been sneaking rosh? I thought another characteristic used to be an almost religious dedication to grabbing a rosh when it was possible.

Never win anything with Bone7. Headless generally. Completely headless.

Winning gets in the way of true art.

I'll always root for Envy. But he'll never win anything if he sticks with bone7.

I don't know if I can continue to support this team.
What sins did we commit in a past life so that God made us C9 fans in this life?

daily reminder that c9 placed lower than mvp.phoenix

Are you not entertained? Clown 9 at their best, what more can people ask for.

That was probably their last big acting performance. It was a great time everybody, with ups and lots of downs.

It would be very surprising to see the same team attend the first masters tournament, but to be honest I think that was the case unless the team finished in the very top spots. It's easy to single out players, but I don't think there's any reason to in this case. There's blame and weak spots all around, but also moments of very good play. A shame!

This team gonna disband me thinks. Awful performance at this tournament and not able to execute any varieties of strategies.

I remember Goody going all about how C9's gonna do well etc in the Navi thread. Sad that Navi didn't do better though :\ I'd say though that Navi could leave TI5 with their heads held high, whereas C9 should just crumble in shame.
C9 didn't look like C9 at all. Zero identity.

What Envy really needs is 4 guys that can carry him, tough job but hope dies last.

C9 didn't look like C9 at all. Zero identity. You are right . I actually expected better from them with the past few month's they performed stable (i do not count the roster with aui cause that's a different c9). I guess i was wrong oh well.
Navi isn't exactly held head high too they lost this tournament so hard it isn't exactly a success. They still feel hard and this may possibly be the peak of what they can perform for the triple navi core.

C9 didn't look like C9 at all. Zero identity. It's true that whereas C9 had the potential to do something big in this tournament, navi was destined to end in last place. In that sense C9 certainly has lost more, although obviously navi are the bigger losers.
