FATA is a known TI choker, this wasn't the first time. He was dragging Liquid down TI6 and C9 down TI5, its frustrating as hell to watch.
>Failing miserably
And you conveniently ignore 2014 C9, pre RTZ Secret, or even 2015 C9 (they dominated at DAC, but fell to the comeback mechanics in 2 important series, and did fairly well for the rest of the season, until Notail, Fata and Bone7 choked at TI and they got dismantled by Fy's rubick in the lower bracket). After this roster was formed they went and got 3rd place at that Manila LAN, barely losing to EG in a close BO3. Liquid looked positively awful until recently, and so does LGD/LFY and even iG post Kiev. Teams has their ups and downs, Clown9 just sadly choked right at the most important tournament of the season. C9 2015 disbanded because Misery was fed up with the 3 choker. Secret disbanded because Universe went to shit the moment he left EG, and they couldn't figure out how to play with RTZ and EE together, they ended up having to sub in Bulba in the last minute.

The throws were real during the group stages, only the old EG and old C9 were able to throw games like that. The game yesterday they were simply outplayed by Empire as simple as that. And thats not because of individual skill. They never looked really as a team this TI. Don't know who is the real shot caller in game but that seems like his fault. Also every team with envy in it seems to like to play the split push game last time it was nagas and TBs all over the place now its AW turn to try it. Fata performed good every time he was in a good team, maybe he had a bad week, but still a mid is only as good as his team wants him to be.
The issue with these sorts of statements is that you can apply this sort of reasoning to all players on the team if EE's record is what you call failing miserably. EE won a major and was in the finals of another in one team and has had multiple very strong tournament placings over the years. PLD has never been on a successful team without EE on it, but has been a part of most of EE's good placings. Fata has never won a major, and his 2 most successful teams have been c9 with EE leading and TL with Kuro leading (and yea TL was better with their good run last year). MSS has never been on a team that achieved better results than NP did this year. Aui won a TI with EG, and after that achieved nothing for a year before he joined NP. If you are willing to erase EE's wins from his record, then surely Aui's wins can be also discarded and we can call him a failure as well.
I could say that it's just another time with any of these players "failing", but apart from MSS everyone on the team has proven that they can be a part of a successful team if the team around them is right. It is pretty obvious based on results that EE is not as good as a captain as the very best in the scene are, so in that sense obviously it is his fault. But it's another question where you can find a better one, it's not like you can duplicate PPD, Fly or Kuro and put him on c9. And it's debatable whether anyone from c9 is exactly first choice for some other captain, so it may not be easy to just hop off and join a team that is magically better.

In b4 Fata/MSS kicked for W33+Moon

Why would anyone replace MSS with Moon?

because I am fantastic!
But really, FATA really just is not up to snuff anymore. Aui also made some horrible calls during the game with empire. Going off and dying with doom by himself for no reason

Fata had a lot of really good games after he joined c9, I think he showed he can perform great. For whatever reason they just fell behind as a team towards TI

Just a suggestion. Not saying MSS is bad or underperformed. But u'know, power of friendship is "BS" according to EE.
Even though I am a fanboy of EE, I myself found that EE had a lot of bad calls and did not play up to par to how he usually plays. But the team essentially revolves around EE so he will never get kicked.

EE is starting to lose his passion, isn't he? He shifted a bit of his attention from the game to do stuff around the game like building his own team and finding sponsors. That's a clear sign he's not as much into the game as he used to and it translates in its performance.
I think the path to professional dota is exhausting, nothing prevents players from playing 12h a days and some will do it. You can't slack in practice if you want to keep up with them.

I'm not sure about this. I think most of us would prefer that he stuck to one of (carry player / captain / team owner). At least he doesn't have to do the last one any more, assuming C9 keeps them (which if they stay together I don't see why they would be dropped).

The two worst placing teams to beat C9 got top 8, and one of those losses was a bo1.
Obviously they weren't at their best, but at the same time I don't feel C9 got as much opportunity to showcase themselves as might be hoped. 15th-16th doesn't seem a hugely meaningful placement really.

EE just shouldn't play carry.

Nothing wrong with Envy carry.
C9 need a captain to control them and a coach to console them. Get PPD and Blitz in - the dream!

C9 disbands. This thread is now irrelevant, pretty much like C9 at TI. Sad really, kinda think they would have been better playing as Team NP.
