If you just want to kill Ghom switch your low range signature for MM. Kite him around the very outside room as slowly as possible (this is the key) and shoot whenever you have the opportunity.
the sig-spell isnt low-range, due to the rune. i shot an orb with this, but on quite low speed. i tried different setups today. items wise high dmg (like 25k) + low life (30k) vs low dmg (15k) + high life ( 50k) skills, i switched to MM with +4AP on hit, AO + pierce, light-hydra, MW, Sparkflint, E-Armor
but i never made it past 50%.
how did i try it? i run into him so his first cloud will be closer to the center. than i go back to the entrance and try to stay there until the next cloud comes. so far so good. until he starts to puke the acid slime. 2 i can handle as long as they dont hit me (nasty dmg), when i cant kill them fast enough i have to go vs 4 of them. 2 fresh spawned + 2 damaged. and the clouds get more and more until the point where i dont have any safe spot in the chamber. even with wormhole-port i cant get fast enough trough the room to find a safe area. if i do t he peace wont last long because the next cloud closes this gap and im kneedeep in the crap.
is this just a problem of skills/micro or really a gear-problem? increasing my paragons wont help so much because of the little stat-gain and also it takes quite a while. im on lvl4 with 75% completed to 5. i could do more MF-runs, like start in a3 and just follow the quests until i reach ghom again, thats more than enough time to get a 5-stack and kill some champs/rares on the way. but better items dont drop instantly ...

you need to use snowbound rune on blizzard so that you can sub astral presence out for glass cannon. you also shouldnt be using lightning blast.. its terrible. use shock pulse piercing orb.
lightning bast <-> piercing orb the orb does 15% more dmg, but the speed is quite low (same wpn) so i checked the balst, which is like an uzi, piercing too and is much faster to cast. the orb also tends to miss at least the slimes because of his /\/\/ movement
glass cannon <-> astral presence thats just a left over, i tried to use tons or arcane dmg-sources with temporal flux and thought i could use some extra AP for the AO with pierce.
the strange part is, when i went in his chamber the very first time, i brought him down to 25% with my alltime skills (psn-hydra, slow-blizz, piercing orb, wormhole, force armor, sparkflint). since i tried him over and over, i just get him to 50% ... and i cant even say "ok i just farm more" because the wiz is my highest char by far, the others just reached a1 inferno. and also the AH wont work, a)because i go selffound all the way b)i dont have much gold ^^ (maybe <500k) already tried to ask my FL but most of them quit d3 in 1.03 and the few left are not in a3 yet.

what about Arcane mines or Blossom? As Ghom is so big you should hit him quite often with 600%+ wpn dmg. Familiar + Psn Hydra should stay on at all times. Maybe with the 10% Wpn dmg Illusions too. Just some random ideas, I'm nowhere near Ghom Inferno but just wanted to help.

well the blossom is too random, even shots behind you, so i miss more shots than i hit. the mines need like 3sec before they are active, which means his slime will tank them or he ran past them before they are active.
i went back to my first build and use psn-hydra + piercing orb. but im not happy with the blizzard so far, the slow is good but its not totally convincing yet. i tried stuff like the twister or other hydras, but its not a good replacement so far. the psn-pools from the hydra do way too much dmg vs ghom, but twister costs tons of mana, other hydras dont have DoT
i will try sth else and replace blizz by MW, so i use force amor , sparkflint and MW perhaps the MW-dmg will help the hydra to do even more dmg than i "just" have to kite him ...

more res more armor. 500 AR is very low. do you use any armor spell? if yes, with which rune? I would suggest using energy armor. also, you do not have to beat him. act4 sucks for farming paragon exp and items anyway.

I think it might be bugged. The large tornado from stormchaser has double the proc coefficient, I'm thinking maybe the game treats all tornados of stormchaser like the large tornado once you have charges.

storm chaser rune procs like mad with no need of the signature spell, it seems even more broken than wiked winds because the proc rate is higher so the loh and the ap on crit go nuts. withh good resists and armour and 500 loh i could face tank act3 mobs like a boss without diamond skin or even freezing them, just because the loh was basically recuperating me about the same life i was loosing.
man i could even changed my build for fun and dps, changed cristal shell for the one that explodes with shards, the cool time reduction on frost nova for the one that does 20% extra damage on frozen and the explosive blast for meteor and could still comfortably farm act3.

You're not kiting him slowly around the room in the outer square which when I did it a long time ago in mediocore gear made it fairly trivial. I suggest using the arcane slowing build (something like http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/diophan-1432/hero/3286576 ). I imagine using blizzard as your slow is making handling the slimes much harder than if you have a hydra slowing them automatically. Your gear is pretty bad though... I'm not sure why you're doing act3 with that sort of gear.

It's entirely possible to Ghom (especially after the nerfs) with the gear you have right now so don't lose hope. I find when kiting Ghom around with blizz/hydra the real key is to be able to dispatch the slimes as fast as possible. Right now when he shoots the slimes how fast are you able to kill them? If you're not killing the slimes fast enough they start getting in your way and forcing you to move farther than necessary.
Looking at your skill build, you could swap out blur or galvanizing wind for cold blooded to do more damage and also change the blizzard rune to snowbound (as someone mentioned already) so you can spam it more. I also think it might be worth it for you to swap out force weapon for diamond skin since it lets you get away with more mistakes and more aggressive play. It also might be worth it to swap venom hydra for arcane hydra since (supposedly) venom hydra does more damage to stationary targets but arcane does more to moving targets now. Swapping out force armor for prismatic in the fight is another change you can make since you should be aiming not to get hit by the slimes or ghom so all the damage you'll be taking will be from poison.

It was about an +8k DPS increase over my old source. Now I just hope the "Adds +x% <Element> Damage" really isn't connected to the damage your weapon does, because currently I'm using a weapon with fire damage.
Now I want better Bracers and I kinda want a socketed Storm Crow helmet, even though it's not the best option, but affordable. Would aim for a Witching Hour belt, but these have insane prices lately.

Use AO/arcane hydra then? It's like blizzard/hydra but not mind-numbingly boring.

I refuse to use the critmass build and any other mind-numbingly boring builds like that so I run a AO/Hydra build and it works great.
I got a few questions that have probably been answered already but the thread is pretty huge.
Does attack speed influence the damage output of hydra/blizzard? Does Critical mass reduce the cooldown of archon form if you crit while using disintegration wave in archon form and does disintegration form even crit to begin with, because i cant remember seeing yellow numbers doing that?

so everything gets multiplied? shouldn't it only be elemental dmg bonus only? Is there any reliable source to back this up?
