So that is perfect devastator with perfect source, and assuming otherwise very high cc/cd/ele/elite stats?

Maybe an more useful (at least for me) comparison, if I switch a furnace to a devastator+source, how much must I go up in sheet dps to have similar effective dps in rifts? Or at least similar firebird dot dps. Do I understand it correctly that a setup with 1.2 a/s needs 20% more sheet dps (let's ignore ele and +elite) to get the same firebird dot dps as an 1.0 a/s weapon?

yes for both questions

but the best way is to exit game wearing one, update profile on DiabloProgress and repeat for other setup. Its not like fire and elite modifiers can be ignored ^^

And again, all those ignores maximus fire chains and cindercoat RCR etc. Those things are massive for effective DPS, I personally hate playing without cindercoat, because you only have AP for 2 apocalypse. That slows you down so much in good rifts with many zombie packs or when kiting over long distance, not to mention that 1 missclick on destructable objects fucks you up for couple seconds. People often try to work it around with conduit rune on magic weapon, which is worse, and cost you additional 10% damage selfbuff.

Its complicated and impossible to understand without gaining personal experience, but yea, for general idea Id use DiabloProgress.

Sorry to bother you guys again.
I checked on diablo progress, and they calculate elite damage as multiplicative with elemental damage. (589k sheet dps with 54% fire turns into 908k elemental dps, and elite elemental says 1.79M with 97% elite damage. 0.589*1.54*1.97 = 1.79, but 0.589*(1+0.54+0.97) = 1.48) I always though they added up, as it said in some thread someone linked a long time ago that I can't find again.

Is diabloprogress correct in multiplying the elemental and elite buffs?

elemental and elite are multiplicative yea. i'm not sure which category stuff like pet damage goes into though.

In general pet damage is counted as skill damage (not elemental but skill)

Here's my seasonal wizard, any suggestions? Feels like it'll take me a while to replace that yellow ammy cuz fuck paying 100 shards a roll.

I have 6/7 Firebird pieces and a RoRG, so I'm mostly just waiting on upgrades and have some freedom in that regard. What should I be looking out for? My immediate plan is just to blow shards trying to find a better Magefist, kinda lost after that. Not sure when I'll replace my SS either, waiting for a good 2hand but idk how good a 2hand I need to find before switching is beneficial (assuming its not a Furnace)

With firebirds you got enough dps for T6 (it may be a bit slow without +elite, but you'll hopefully find a soj soon). You need more toughness, though. So I'd almost gamble bracers and helm with vitality before starting to throw shards on ammy.

Crafting bracers may be a good option as well.

Also consider using your firebirds gloves instead if magefist if it is a decent roll (with +toughness compared to magefist) and you got a good replacement for rorg. That ias is close to useless with firebirds build.

For skills, you probably want to go more defensive at higher Ts:
- glass cannon --> unstable anomaly
- force armour --> primsatic armour
- wormhole --> safe passage
it'll increase your effective dps as you don't have to run as much and wont die as often.

And get your legendary gems! You want three in general.
I see you have a lvl 13 gem, so you have tried GRs.

- You should try to replace that serpent sparker with a sun keeper, or just a crafted devastator (+fire damage) if you don't have a sun keeper. The goal with firebirds is to try to get the mobs under infinite dot, and have that dot be as high as possible. While its easier to get them burning with two hydras, its not necessary, and you'd do more damage with a better weapon.

- You are using a 6 piece set AND a rorg? You do realize you're recieving no benefit from the ring bonus, right? You should ditch it asap. Ideally you'd want a Stone of Jordan, but if you don't have one just get a ring with both cc and chd. The other ring should be a unity if you're doing solo, or just a good ring with cc and chd if not.

-You shouldn't aim for a better magefist. Rather, you should be looking for a good cindercoat and firebird gloves, and swap them with your magefist and firebird armor. That way you get about the same damage boost, but get the massive resource cost reduction the cindercoat provides.

-Replace that amulet when you get a decent one, I guess. The ideal would be an eye of etlich, as it reduces damage from ranged attacks by a 25-30%, which is a pretty big boost to toughness.

-Get strongarm bracers. They provide up to a 30% damage boost to knock-backed enemies - and black hole triggers that effect.

-That belt is also pretty bad. Normally you'd want either a witching hour for +chd or a string of ears (reduces damage from melee attacks up to a 30%). Alternatively, you could try to combine the belt and amulet with a set like blackthorn, to get a bit more vitality and damage to elites.

-You should use legendary gems. Normally you'd want bane of the powerful, gem of efficacious toxin, and zei's stone of vengeance. Also, upgrade your yellow gems in your chest and pants.

-Try to get vitality on your bracers and helm. Also, I personally prefer a purple gem in my helm, though I guess that's up to personal preference as the CDR can also be quite handy.

Alright, so I should craft a Devastator (i have the recipe) then! The damage range is much larger than on wands, right?

Yeah, I don't have a better ring or better gear yet, all this Firebird stuff just dropped into my lap over a 4 hour session lol

Roger that, been trying to get a cindercoat. I DO want a better Magefist though, if both Magefist and Cindercoat are perfectly rolled the Magefist will be better cuz it rolls 5 primaries

Yeah... WH is super fucking rare so if I get one, I get one. In the meantime a Blackthorne ammy/belt combo would really help. Any other crafted belts I could use?

Since this post I've put a Zei's in my other ring

The purple gem doesn't make sense to me currently because I have no toughness, and am relying on Force Armor to keep me from getting one-shot. That spell is fucking amazing. Since I have Force Armor I prefer a diamond for the black hole cooldown

It is. Don't let the listed dps of the weapons deceive you, as those may be quite similar, but the firebird ticks don't benefit from the higher attacks per second of a wand. Looking at damage range alone, a decently rolled devastator (easy enough to get, since its crafted) beats a serpent sparker. Add the +%fire dmg on top of that, and it's clearly the better weapon.

You should use that until you get a good Sun Keeper and have a Ralamadni's Gift to burn on it, and the only upgrade to that (and it's debatable whether it's an upgrade at all) would be a Furnace.

Ah, but one of those rolls is guaranteed to be attack speed, and that is practically useless with this build. I guess if it's so perfectly rolled you can afford to enchant the attack speed away, you could replace it with vit (assuming you can? I've no idea).
