In other news, Howard Dean seems to have developed a sense of humor, that's nice to see.

The Donald can't handle AMA. It is to much for him. Obama can handle it, but not the Donald. To be fair Obama only did it for about 30 minutes.

Oh they don't have to answer him. It's just funny that they are deleting him, but maybe it's hard to ignore when a comment has +1500 upvotes or 3K or 4K upvotes in other cases.

I think the take away is that Obama can handle the internet and reddit, Trump can't. Can't even handle Milo. Though who would really want to interact with Milo?

It would actually be a good issue for him to pick up because it's been up in the air since Bush. Nobody will commit to rebuilding NASA and ending the waste.

People shouldn't underestimate the role that these sentiments play in Trump's level of support. One of the sweetest parts of a Trump victory will be licking the tears off of the faces of the snooty PC crowd. so are you an anarchist or do you actually believe that trump's presidency will be good for the U.S. during trump's presidency? I have selected the giant douche over the turd sandwich. God knows that Trump isn't my ideal candidate, but there are enough silver linings to his election such that I greatly prefer him to Hillary. Can you give a quick summary on a few points of what you think Hillary will do that is so bad? or this goes to any of the other trump "supporters" as well Here are a few things off the top of my head: 1) Hillary is demonstrably inept. Her foreign policy record is an absolute wreck as has been chronicled extensively in this thread. When I was listening to Bill Clinton talk about her "record of success" last night, my thought was that she probably should have stuck to working on smaller ticket items. 2) I would much rather Trump pick Supreme Court justices than Hillary. 3) I don't trust Hillary to not be a corrupt shill to outside interests. No, she has not been convicted of corruption (or even charged), but one simply can't sweep her extensive history of shady dealings under the rug. Whether she did anything wrong or not, the optics are beyond terrible and can't be ignored. So you don't trust Hillary over Trump on foreign policy, where Trump stated he likes Putin, wants to deny help to NATO states, bomb everybody he does not like, kill thew families of "enemies", torture those that survive, all the while being super isolationist, have his allies pay him money for protection etc etc And then you don't trust Hillary over Trump on corruption and independence, when Trump has sold his name to literally anything that is willing to pay, did Trump University and whenever he says something, it might just be completely false and he knows it's false. You have to be incredibly biased to condemn Hillary on those points but not Trump. The difference between me and you is that I pay careful attention to what Trump says and don't read bullshit into his statements or take things out of context. Your recitation of Trump's stated foreign policy is too off base to even warrant a response. As for the relative corruption between the two candidates, you can't dismiss the simple fact that Trump has done what he has done as a businessman acting in his best interests. The Clintons have done what they have done under the color of governmental office. Huge difference.
Really? You do realize, the stuff Trump says is about the only thing that we from over the pond are hearing. His quotes are the things we see, we don't have to read anything into them, because there is nothing to read here.
Trump stated he likes Putin because he is such a strong leader. No buts. He stated, if a NATO partner is attacked, he would withhold support if the other side had not done their part before. He stated he would bomb ISIS to the ground. He stated if killing the families of ISIS-warriors was what it takes to win, he would do that. He stated he would bring worse torture then waterboarding back. He stated he would have partners pay money to the US for their protection. I give you that the isolationism is something i read from his statements. Everything else is exactly what he has said. Do i need to link those things in the thread?
Regarding the corruption and shadyness, what tells you he won't do the exact same thing as president if you elect him? You are dealing with a person that has shown a history of shady business practices and you think he will change because the office demands it? His whole campaign has been nothing but telling bullshit and then when called on it doubling down on the lie.
You have to use the same measurement for both candidates.

Good to specify exactly what you were finding cringy in such situations. I'm glad I asked.

Missing the convention because it's been a busy day right now.
From this thread it sounds like all I missed was more identity politics.

Is gun safety laws also identity politics? Because that's what was occurring most recently. If so, identity politics is a large and unwieldy label.

I find it a bit disturbing that the individual motivations and identities of the shooters were so neatly swept under the rug. I understand such simplification is best for conveying a powerful message, but subsuming them into the collective cry for gun control worries me. Why do these things only serve as launchpads for bigger abstract issues?
Goddamn, the tonal whiplash.
