alternating turns between the two parties That would require too much common sense out of politics I guess. edit: I guess even that solution is problematic though because it would probably just lead to presidents wanting to nominate radical judges from their party and moderate judges from the opposing party | ||

You are aware that Republican leadership said they would never accept any candidate put forth by Obama before Scalia's body was even cold right? They didn't look at the proposed candidate and say he wasn't conservative enough because were wasn't any candidate yet. | ||
