Since when exactly does the meaningful distinction between illegal and legal immigration exist (for a good part of American history you could probably hop on a boat and if you made it you made it, right?), and how does that fit into the narrative of people claiming their heritage consists of people "who made it legally" compared to people who "cheated the system". That's probably a fairly modern concept, am I wrong? That's as old as america (or any country for that matter) : every immigration wave faced the resentment of the previous wave. The idea of legality is just a plot to justify this reality.

People shouldn't underestimate the role that these sentiments play in Trump's level of support. One of the sweetest parts of a Trump victory will be licking the tears off of the faces of the snooty PC crowd. so are you an anarchist or do you actually believe that trump's presidency will be good for the U.S. during trump's presidency? I have selected the giant douche over the turd sandwich. God knows that Trump isn't my ideal candidate, but there are enough silver linings to his election such that I greatly prefer him to Hillary. Can you give a quick summary on a few points of what you think Hillary will do that is so bad? or this goes to any of the other trump "supporters" as well Here are a few things off the top of my head: 1) Hillary is demonstrably inept. Her foreign policy record is an absolute wreck as has been chronicled extensively in this thread. When I was listening to Bill Clinton talk about her "record of success" last night, my thought was that she probably should have stuck to working on smaller ticket items. 2) I would much rather Trump pick Supreme Court justices than Hillary. 3) I don't trust Hillary to not be a corrupt shill to outside interests. No, she has not been convicted of corruption (or even charged), but one simply can't sweep her extensive history of shady dealings under the rug. Whether she did anything wrong or not, the optics are beyond terrible and can't be ignored.
So you don't trust Hillary over Trump on foreign policy, where Trump stated he likes Putin, wants to deny help to NATO states, bomb everybody he does not like, kill thew families of "enemies", torture those that survive, all the while being super isolationist, have his allies pay him money for protection etc etc
And then you don't trust Hillary over Trump on corruption and independence, when Trump has sold his name to literally anything that is willing to pay, did Trump University and whenever he says something, it might just be completely false and he knows it's false. You have to be incredibly biased to condemn Hillary on those points but not Trump.

Not to mention Trump said those things on FP without actually knowing a thing about FP. He knows less about FP than Obama in 08, and that is indisputable lol.
Oh and Trump donated to crooked Hillary LOL

"Press 1 for English" and he demands to know where he is because he thought this was America. Sure there are tumblrinas on the left but they're not on the Hillary left, they're on the "HOW COULD BERNIE DO THIS TO ME? I THOUGHT WE HAD SOMETHING SPECIAL!" left. Of the two candidates Trump is the one who gets apoplectic with rage whenever someone says something he doesn't like. You don't see Hillary suing journalists or trying to start one man boycotts for companies who show insufficient loyalty to her brand of America worship. we've already established that Trump isn't religious right?

The biggest difference between my political views now and those that I historically have had is that I have developed a major anti-establishment streak. This isn't so much the product of a singular thing or event, but it is the result of the confluence of many things that I have observed over the years. It started as an ever-growing sense that there's something wrong, though I couldn't really put my finger on it. Perhaps Trump came along as the right messenger at the right time to reach someone like me, but what he has said and campaigned on has encouraged me to look at the world with a different, and more critical, perspective. And there are some things that I am finding wanting.
The fact that Trump doesn't appear to actually care about anything makes me think the establishment will play him rather easily. Look at the people he has hired, for instance. They'll take the rhetorical pounding so long as nothing changes.
And justices are just about the only reason most conservatives consider voting for him. I'm just not convinced he cares enough to fight the Democrats over it.
But we might find out, Trump has struck lightning in a bottle again and again the last few weeks. The only scenario where he wins (major Clinton scandals, for instance) has happened twice in the last few months.

Millions of americans would agree with the anti establishment sentiment, it has been growing steadily and has reached the tipping point. Scandal after scandal for HRC just keeps the flames burning. The worst part is, in this convention we have never seen acknowledgement of their corruption. They just brush it under the rug, hold hands and sing songs of how america is great and fill people with optimism and hope they forget. This backfires on everyone who isn't already a HRC supporter, the fact that they think people are that inept, to not acknowledge their failures as a party will keep driving the anti establishment sentiment.

so Trump's AMA is literally not an AMA, that's cute.

And Trump is a delicate flower. We can't have people asking him hard questions.

The difference between me and you is that I pay careful attention to what Trump says and don't read bullshit into his statements or take things out of context. Your recitation of Trump's stated foreign policy is too off base to even warrant a response.
As for the relative corruption between the two candidates, you can't dismiss the simple fact that Trump has done what he has done as a businessman acting in his best interests. The Clintons have done what they have done under the color of governmental office. Huge difference.

I don't think they want a crowd of HuffPost reporters throwing a wrench in the process while people have actual questions to pose.

It's fair to assume that this is part of the reason. You're delusional if you think it's the only one though.
