American politics are so weird to me. How can people be so fanatical in their fandom for a political candidate? The continuous cheers and wooooo as if they were rockstars? I mean you try to vote for what you agree with but you'll never agree with a politician 100% right? How are people so hyped by them instead of seeing them as people just doing their job? And who will have to compromise everything they say now once they get in office?
And now this insanely melodramatic Joe Biden movie lol. How can people take this serious?
edit: Now running on stage with Rocky training music lmao what a joke it depends; on occasion, no candidate has a majority of delegates before the convention, in which case the convention is a complicated affair full of deal-making, while that happened a fair amount in the past, there hasn't been such a contested convention since 1968 iirc. So when a candidate already has the majority of delegates by the convention, it's mostly just a long commercial. Conventions are aimed at the party base, especially the activists in the party (most delegates are local party officials and/or activists), so they tend to be enthusiastic people, and they're generally mostly in agreement already on issues. So it's basically a rally.

I don't think that Joe's attack on Trump's purported empathy for the middle class is going to work.

Ok the politcs are working on me already I am digging this diss track from Joe Biden haha
edit: ok the shouting finale of his speech turned me off again

WikiLeaks isn’t done yet. Tonight they released more information they obtained from the DNC. This time it’s voicemails.
There’s no real smoking gun there, but it does give some insight into the inner workings of the Democratic National Committee.
The voicemails include one of someone making arrangements about a dinner with President Obama and someone else who asked about “the best way to contact Michelle Obama” to invite her to an event. And none other than Gloria Allred is featured in one of the voicemails, apparently early for a conference call.
But there are three featuring rants against Bernie Sanders for––as one of the speakers put it––trying to “rule the Democratic party.” These speakers were clearly frustrated about Sanders, who wasn’t a Democrat originally, trying to reshape the party.
One of them declared, “Do not let him rule the Democratic Party, he’s not a Democrat! Please stop this man now!”
You can listen to one of those anti-Sanders rants above, and you can go through the list of voicemails here.

Bloomberg comes across as such a weenie on TV.
|
C'mon Bloomberg, get on with shitting on Trump. That's why you're here, right?

TIL people still actually leave meaningful voicemail.

Here are the problems with what Bloomberg is doing: 1) he is not saying anything new, and 2) he is telling instead of showing. This is a badly missed opportunity. As the former mayor of New York, he should be able to bust out a good story or two that wrecks Trump.

edit: Now running on stage with Rocky training music lmao what a joke I'm not sure. It feels to me that political propaganda have been moving towards establishing personality cults for a long time (but I'm naive when it comes to politics, I'm probably wrong on that hypothesis). They used to be how they picked the nominee. Its about unifying the party.

I just find it amazing that smart, politically active people are willing to roll the dice for leader of the free world, for someone who is shooting from the hip substantively his entire candidacy. Like what is it on the other side of the ledger that is your reason for this sacrifice?
“In some states, where it’s more expensive, maybe they do have to lift the minimum wage, and in others, they don’t have to do it."
- D. Trump, May 2016
“Minimum wage is an issue that should be handled at the state and local level,”
- Republican platform, 2016
“I would leave it and raise it somewhat...I would say 10. I would say 10...But the thing is, Bill, let the states make the deal.”
- D. Trump, 7/26/16
“The minimum wage has to go up [to $10 from $7.25].", “states should really call the shot,” but “at the same time, people have to be taken care of.”
Asked if he meant the federal minimum wage has to go up to $10 in a followup question, Trump indicated yes. “Federal."
- D. Trump, 7/27/16
This is who smart, politically active conservatives want to be president of the US, in the year 2016. Y'all are nuts.

'So ehh guys, lets elect the sane person'

What is this video? Seriously.

Now that was some strong convincing economical arguments o_O

I def have liked the last 3 speeches. Key is that they are people that Trump will have trouble attacking personally. Man, I wish Biden was running. He would run over Trump I feel.
Expect Obama to wreck face later tonight.
