Just saying from personal experience, but I have a Das Keyboard (blue switches) and it feels like sex for the fingers

My girlfriend ordered me a 6gv2 like 2 weeks ago but its yet to be shipped and still says the payment is pending even though the money is gone -_- Steelseries customer service has'nt really been very helpful, took a week to get a reply to the support ticket and didn't solve anything ^_^ I heard that its a really nice keyboard just hope I get it soon
EDIT: anyone else had similar problems with Steelseries? the fact they don't have a customer support number is annoying.

I read somewhere that steelseries has basically nonexistent customer support.

Hey guys, I was thinking of grabbing a 6gv2 with that coupon, any comments on whether you'd recommend it or not? Or perhaps, is there a better keyboard for that price? Thanks!

I heard that 6gv2 steelseries aren't even close to filco or leopold. Is there any mechanical keyboards with blue or brown switches that are around 100bucks that is available to be shipped to US? I looked around but filco or leopold costs like 200 with shipping.

I returned my 6gv2 back in...November I believe, and they were prompt about getting me an RMA and refunding my credit card. So at least one positive data point for you to consider.

Is it impossible to get a Filco Majestouch tenkeyless with brown switches now? Doesn't seem to be available anywhere.

Hold on and wait for the Leopold FC200R keyboards. EliteKeyboards are already accepting pre-orders and are waiting for them to arrive. They should have them by stock at the end of this month.
The difference between a Filco and Leopold is negligible. Just a few cosmetic and ergonomic fixes here and there, but nothing that would clearly make one better than the other.
Cheapest option (while maintaining a decent level of quality): Razer BlackWidow. Cherry blue keyboard. Macro keys on the side make for an awkward layout, but you'll get used to it. 80USD with shipping.
Best value, tenkeyless: Leopold FC200R. Comes in cherry blue, brown, and black switch options. Marginal improvements over the Filco keyboard, most would say they're pretty much identical (unless you're the nitpicky type). 120USD with shipping.
Best value, full-size: Rosewill RK-9000. Cherry blue keyboard. Rumored to be one of the reasons why Brian of EK had a mutual parting with Diatec. 100USD with shipping.

I just got my Filco Majestouch Tenkeyless with Cherry Browns from amazon. This is my first mechanical keyboard, so I can't comment on the differences between the switches. But, I'm really enjoying my keyboard so far, probably the sound of it the most!
I'd say my only complaint for far is that the ctrl, alt, spacebar, etc row isn't as large as on my previous keyboard, so my fingers are typing on the edges of it. It probably wouldn't matter to someone who isn't used to larger keys down there, but it does take some getting used to.

Planning to get a brown in the near future. Any downside to brown that i should be aware of?
Blue has that double tap problem that will likely affect me as I'm used to flat keyboards.

I had one of these lying around

It's made by BTC, I don't even know what model exactly, since it doesn't say anywhere on it, and googling it isn't that easy.
But what is THIS:

They look like mechanical key switches, except under them (I took the thing apart before, but didn't think to take pictures) are rubber domes. I'm confused.

It likely won't affect you since everyone makes everything seem worse than it is, just try it out.
The downside of brown switches is that they're brown.
Fuck brown.

Blue has that double tap problem that will likely affect me as I'm used to flat keyboards. The double tap issue that people talk about isn't actually worse than any rubber dome / membrane keyboard. You just have to let the key reset slightly before pressing it again, like with any other key (except cherry black). Also, it's only 1mm distance anyway.

It's actually worse than every other switch design due to the moving plastic piece that provides the click sound is fully compressed up against the key stem on the down stroke and on the up stroke is being pulled against the switch contacts. On tactile-only mechanical switches (incl. topre switches) you can quick press around the tactile bump, and on membrane switches the area is closer to the bottoming-out point. Linear switches are probably harder to get a feel for but it works the same as a tactile mechanical switch, but without the tactile bump.
