Basically anything school related is online now. So, there is around 75 % of ppl under the age of 18 that NEED the internet.
Don't be ignorant, just because your above 18 now, you don't have to worry about restraints upon "minors"
We should only let minors be able to walk around and eat drink or sleep? There is a reason for alcohol, driving, and voting restrictions. Not for NO internet use under 18, lulwut.

I am majoring in Computer Science, and going for my Master's degree. Don't you think I know how the internet is an integral part of education, and the modern world? However, you can never convince me that people under the age of 18 NEED the internet in order to get their education. I pay $1000+ for books each semester, when I understand full well that they could EASILY be put online. So the printed word is not dead yet. They could get everything they need to know from books. And I never proposed, nor claimed it to be possible that an 18+ law to be enforced. All I stated was that that is how it should be.

Because when she is 18 and it seems like she has nothing going for her.. she can put down how she was trolled to hell by an internet mob on her college applications. Hell she will even have a 7 year old video she can link. Colleges love sob stories

or we could just leave it how it is and continue to expect parents to take responsibility for the things parents should be taking responsibility for, rather than deprive various groups of people of something useful that could help them grow.
Well, I can't argue that this incident could, very well, help this young girl grow in the sense that she will learn that, contrary to popular belief, she is not, in fact, perfect in every way, shape, and form. I can't argue that her parent's won't most likely grow in the sense that they may very well monitor their daughter's behavior and activity online. However, I can't agree that the internet played no role whatsoever in her becoming the way she is already. Her ego had to get inflated somehow, and I find it hard to believe that she is so incredibly popular in whatever middle school she attends that she worships herself, and believes that she is the epitome of epicness.
