Sure, it's good. And idk how much he's making overall from donations and ads and whatnot, but I highly doubt it'll be enough to keep a family going 5-10 years later. But I could be wrong. Anyway for someone like hero winning first place certainly makes a huge difference. As for Bisu, he looked pretty depleted as well, I highly doubt he didn't give enough shit and didn't practice for this to the best of his abilities.

I was never big on Best, but it'd be cool seeing him back. Alas, ![]() ![]() It'd be like having ![]() ![]() The future of BW may lie in its amateurs becoming competitive enough with the top progamers, but in these next few years on SBENU/Kongdoo-sponsored life support, big household names need to keep BW propped up and in the limelight, in the midst of the public conciousness. It's a terrible shame ![]() Oh the news stories that would emerged -- "The Revolutionist finally wins the OGN Starleague" "Vengeance his name is Taeksin" "The rise of the dragon" "BW resurgence continues with the Taek-god". Myths and stories of lore... As joyous as I am that ![]() ![]() Such a sad day for the BW scene... Watching Sonic present the winner's trophy and check to hero, the disappointment on his face was obvious ![]()

It shows in both his regular streaming times and his play now, sloppiness+nervousness, very uncharacteristic of supposedly the best BW PvZer. disappointing tbh.

Kim Carrier also said it's of utmost importance that there are players to challenge the likes of Bisu, or it just becomes a one-man show and people will stop caring. I definitely agree that's it's good to promote competition and maybe having Bisu sitting a top the pedestal may just give other players more incentive to practice...Most importantly, Bisu draws the crowds. His streams are mega-popular, his sponsorship deals and visibility with the masses. Just look at TL, in tournaments he plays in, we get 10x the interest in league coverage articles, LR threads, Liquibets, and every other metric by which we gauge the health of BW. It really seems like BW needing Bisu to keep the game alive (with SBENU/Kongdoo dollars)

A 3-2 would've captivated more people.

Some of the current crop are still young and have been playing for a long time and are still very good, but we need fresh meat here.

It really seems like BW needing Bisu to keep the game alive (with SBENU/Kongdoo dollars) That's one way to look at it. Another is that it's like Tiger Woods... there are lots of ppl who don't give that much of a crap about golf itself, but who became fans because of Tiger. Now that he's not doing well, they've stopped caring about the game, because they were Tiger fans, not golf fans. ![]() Bisu's great, but BW can't live or die because of one player. If it's to that point, then the 'great BW revival', isn't. It's awesome that there's tough competition that can take Bisu down, we need more and more of that, rather than over-relying on old legends. Again, look at golf... they invested everything into hyping Tiger for the last 15 years. Now they're in trouble, declining viewership, declining participation, because Tiger kinda sucks now, and they didn't bother to build up the brands of a generation of rising young stars. This even though Tiger last won a major in 2008.
