edit: Sorry for bringing "Drama" to DRTL, I just think it's hilarious a C ranked player is playing in the league.
You are not excused. You have nothing to do with this league anymore, so please leave. PM me if you have a problem with my skills, or lack of. Psyonic: Focus on the game, and PM shotcoder if you want to continue this - for 99,9 % of the threads viewers - irrelevant bm:ing. Lets talk about happy stuff! Are they not? They're talking about someone being C-/C rank, I'd say that's pretty good news if they are known as D rank?

Im talking about whatever happened 3 years ago. The C-/C - discussion is getting really old. We have disected psyonicreavers skills for the better part of 20 pages now, just drop it or send in a report to nikon. I think many people - including me - are getting sick of all the negative posts in this thread. It should be 95 % "GGs thanks for the game" and 5 % Drama, not the other way around,
On a happy note: Psy is playing his game atm/very soon, if we win there´s an ace situation with team TAKK, and if he loses its a 4-2 win for them. Do you (TAKK) have any special taktiks for ace match, like we do? ^^

For ACE match, I'll go ahead and throw out that I'll be the player for the ACE match. This gives TAKK a slight MU advantage, but I just want them to know who to contact/PM to coordinate with their ACE match player. I will be free after 10pm PDT tonight and I have tomorrow off. Let's try to play soon!

As was brought up earlier, the flaw in DRTL is that many players see no advantage in moving up to CRTL, since they would much rather be their teams celebrated ace player than a relatively bad player among much better players. That disgusting group of people who prefer being relatively good rather than objectively bad (but still better then the former), will force themselves to stagnate. That's why next season, the top performers of DRTL, are being moved up to CRTL.

Why are you bringing shit up, again? I don't get it.
Please explain to me how in one way you're being positive here. All I see is some passive-aggressive posting against people who are "forcing themselves to stagnate." Like what the fuck? Maybe they don't want to put the extra hours and effort in to be C level and stay there; therefore, they are at a D level. Maybe they are people like me, who play a somewhat (rarely) consistent D+ level standard game, but get raped to hell and back by good multitasking and unorthodox builds. Or maybe we just lack mechanics.
There are a myriad of reasons why people are not at the C- level, the most evident one being mechanics. There are a lot of reasons why these "celebrated aces" are allowed to stay in this league. It's at the subjectivity of the director and the players, and the majority of the players, not even the bad ones (no offense), are crying about a serious imbalance in skill level. Not even that, some of the D- level players KNOW there's a huge difference between D+ and solid D compared to their skill levels, so they just keep quiet and try to improve.
I really don't understand what the problem is here. If you're tired of seeing these supposedly "C level smurfs" in D rank team league, go host the next season and exclude whoever you think is too high to be in this league. Otherwise shut the fuck up and manner up, suck it up, and just play. You're causing unnecessary drama that's been discussed to hell and back for no reason other than taking jabs at people you feel don't belong in this league.

Its because some people here think they are better than they actually are, and then when someone beats them in this league, they think "I just got beaten! The only possible reason why I could have gotten beaten, is if they are actually C rank!!! Must remove them from the league, so I can be my team's celebrated ace!"
|
The issue is much simpler than that: CRTL has much fewer people than DRTL, so it is understandable that they would want more people to move from this pool to that one. The fact that some of us have beaten some of them at some point is what I believe to be another driving force behind puppykiller's logic.
@PK: You're being as subjective as the people you judge in your holier-than-thou posts. Who are you to tell people how they should or should not play this game? Who are you to enforce restrictions on who plays where? You have no authority and no objectivity. As Conversion said, some people DON'T CARE about getting to CRTL and improving. It might be a difficult concept to grasp, but hell, look at the current state of gaming in general - casual gamers are the majority (Angry Birds, anyone?). Not everyone shares your goals or ideals. For me personally, I don't have the time or heart to try my hardest anymore. I reached a certain level at one point, and the only way I stayed there was constant maintenance - practice, BO studying, VOD viewing, asking people for advice, etc. Like I just said, I just don't have it in me to do that anymore (well, I'm going to try for the ASL, but if I fail I will just settle back to where I am now and be content). Sure, it is somewhat upsetting that my skill has deteriorated, but that would be even more upsetting if I was just some bench player in a league where I am everyone's punching bag. I want to play as many games as I can for my team, not be a last option and a detriment to its success.
The best players in DRTL are worse than the worst players in CRTL, or around the same level at best. Where YOU draw the line as to who should be where is irrelevant - that line will ALWAYS be there and there will ALWAYS be people who try to push people over that line, regardless of where it is (Conversion said something similar to this as well). Why do people get B's in school even though they are capable of A's? There are many reasons, but lack of desire is sometimes one of them. To make a personal example, and I don't mean this to be offensive as I am sure you know this and do it intentionally: why do you use poor grammar on TL? Because you don't care. Extend that mentality to others in other fields.
TL;DR: Stop shitting up this thread, your self-righteous attitude will not garner many supporters from any of the people you are trying to address, for reasons you probably can't wrap your mind around and probably look down upon.

in b4 puppy uses his 1337th post.
I won't be as harsh as conversion, but really. we just got over 4 pages of this crap and we'd rather not have to read more of it again. Your post was really random too. The issue has been discussed to death and everyone is aware of the supposed elephant in the room. You're also presupposing to know players' intentions and motivations. There is no way you can claim to be certain about either of those; I hope you realize the problem with that. The problem has been addressed over and over by the organizers. The decision has already been made that the top performers will be included in the CRTL draft in its next season. Why do you need to bring up the issue again?
From my point of view: I'm 4-0 this season compared to the 1-3 had last season this far into the league. So I think it's helped me improve considerably and I'll be looking forward to get even better if I get into CRTL. Does my 4-0 mean I'm too good for this league? Mind you I already dropped to D- this season and after resetting stats I'm on the verge of getting D- again. What am I supposed to do about that. Do I just suck on ladder? Do I run into smurfs all the time? Do I play better when I take the time to study my opponent and prepare specific builds for them? Don't know, don't care. I'm here to play and practice until I feel like I'm improving.
Why are you descending upon the D rank realm to criticize us when you have your own league to worry about? Nothing personal, I still love you and your gay 3 gate zealot push; but I think I speak for all the D rank participants (except maybe eywa who likes to voice his opinion on this thread a lot) when I say that we're sick of reading about smurfs every other page.

The harsh truth is that quite a few top performers put up their hand for CRTL who were consistent winners on DRTL and no teams made the effort to express interest and let them know to sign up for them even just as a substitute. When you and others posted the DRTL ace list up several times, nobody gave two shits.
The mentality of those players was probably then, "well if nobody really wants me on CRTL then I guess I will sign up for DRTL where I know people will actually want me on the team". Its not like they were rude or anything, there was simply no response, no interest when the posts were made, so we kinda just sat there twiddling our thumbs. One poster even said, I hope we don't have too many D+ players in this league or something around those lines.
If you think we should have made the effort, the problem with being assertive is that we know we are simply not wanted. Why would we try and make the effort to join a team that only takes us because they have to, we know we would be completely neglected then. It is up to the teams to welcome the lower level players and create a supportive environment for them.
I just hope that next season the CRTL will greet D+ players with open arms and let them play even if it comes to the detriment of the team. Although I'm not sure I can see that happening. That's the problem.
Perhaps we should have a D+/C- Team league?

Ok I apologize for being so rude. Points taken.
Obviously not everyone doing well in DRTL is the sort of person I was talking about. I hope I didn't sound to general.
