To followup on my request for 2 separate ladder modes (100.00% pure BW, and SC2 shortcuts) I'd actually be fine if Blizzard goofs around with the SC2 shortcut balance. As long as the pure original mode is still intact as an option, it'd be amusing to see them try to balance a game not designed for the shortcuts. And they could buff Scouts, ushering in a new era of the the stove. | ||

I'm sure even you can understand how many potential digital keys there are. As I already said, even if only 1 key out of 1000 satisfied your pattern hypothesis, every person on Earth right now would have a key. To put it a different way, every person in Korea would have 1000 keys. You can do the math and scale appropriately to how "demanding" you think your pattern is. However, this would only apply to hardcopy StarCraft, which probably has no pertinence to the online download of StarCraft which has a completely different key system. | ||

I dont think BW Remastered is Blizzcon announcement material, its not a new game its just a remade version of their classic game due to the popularity in Korea and as a response for the continued interest in competitive play. Even if they actually run out of keys (as Jealous said this is very, very unlikely) do you honestly believe they noticed it over night and simply stopped selling? They would have known for months that they'd run out of keys soon, and as in love as the modern blizzard is with making cash I highly doubt they wouldn't have been able to come up with a solution before they ran out of keys. Chances are that the HD patch/update will be free for all who already own BW so they want to make sure that as many people as possible pay the premium prize for getting the new version when it comes out. You don't just run out of digital versions. Something is coming up. The only question is whether Blizz will manage to fuck it up or not. | ||

Having keys rebinded in one side will not make things easier. It may be reasonable for SC2, where you only need to use one control group for units and one to three for macro, but this is not the case for BW. There are tools (doxstar) which allows you to rebind keys already, but no one really uses them because there is no need. | ||

I just thought of it as a theory as stop selling because of an HD preview next week doesn't seem convincing to me at least. Also, how much you think the premium price will cost?
