Bisu, Flash (and maybe Jaedong soon) streaming all days, new tournaments, more people playing, more tools being developed, and the old fellas of tl.net writing again, im so happy to read comments of Konadora, Stylish, BisuDagger, 2pacalypse, GGzerg, etc... they and MANY more are contributed to our community A LOT, and now we are all together feeling optimist about SCBW future. I think we need to think about new ways to made SCBW popular and massive again, we have the tempo and the best social and media tools for invigorate our community and our beloved game.
Please, make Shield Battery operative as soon as possible guys, we need it! Do players expect BW to be back on the tracks like SSB melee??? If this server launches, how much people will be on it ??
I don't know if BW will ever return to the pre-SC2 beta era but if ShieldBattery is done right, it would do wonders for BW outside of Korea. Iccup is great and all but it's so frustrating to work with that I gave up on it eventually. I never had an issue playing in windowed mode but if SB can solve the hosting/joining games issues.... It would be a huge turn on for many people wanting to get back into the game. I would start streaming BW on twitch again at the very least and maybe even get back into actively using my youtube channel to upload VODs and casts again.

Some people who have skills and experience with some of the aspects of an undertaking like this and can thus provide valuable feedback 4. People who know each other at least to some degree and thus are likely to contact each other for games or to play with friends they see online, as well as chat and etc. In other words a good community foundation.

Also, is this going to work with Mac? Or is it Windows only?

Oh boy... I really need to stop being sarcastic. I really can't believe you wrote this whole essay for "yes".
I thought it was obvious I was with the "which all are TL staff ". But since Harem failed with realizing that I thought lets continue but more and more people are falling for it.
Also, why the hell would I complain about TL staff are the one who is having access? That would be like "Wait, are you saying the guys that worked on this for over 3 years have access to the whole environment? THIS IS HERESY!!!". Based on GTR's video there were at least around 10 people in chat room and estimating the count of TL staff, saying around 50 that have access at the moment just led me to that conclusion which I decided to joke about.

The "Yes" was an answer to Harem's "No". It was pure teasing.

People people, there is no reason to get angst, lets all play like nice adults until the server is ready, we are all overly hyped about it, only thing is to cross your fingers and hope everyone gets the invites ASAPLY!

Seeing as it's taken 3 and a half years to get to the stage it's at currently I think it's best just to forget about it for now as I can't personally see an open beta happening for a long time

Well, tbh I'd rather wait a bit more time, then have completely bugged server with only basic functions just for the sake of having it. I mean I really want to get access to beta too but I understand that giving it to everyone would create a huge mess and disappointment in some people.

Not sure of what causes you to be so pessimistic. You have no idea of the work that was done by tec27 and 2Pac. Games are created from a lobby in a web page. When the game is started you have a countdown in your browser and then.... boom BW in full screen. It's magic.
Most features that are yet to be developed are regular web development and only represent a fraction of what was already done.

Pretty much. Just gotta be patient at this point, It's normal be antsy about something like this when boom, sudden announcement after being worked on for so long (And still being worked on of course)
We know it works to an extent so far, that it's real, and that best of all, we aren't waking up in 2 minutes from now to find out we were dreaming ^^

Oh, is there going to be support for tournaments and leagues, or as a planned feature? That would be great.

People are already using and testing it in a closed beta. It has just taken a while to get there.

no I'm perfectly aware it's just that it's taken a very long time to get to where it is a 'closed' beta. Going off that time frame you can assume that the development time to get it ready for an 'open' beta is going to be a pretty long way away
