Also, announcing a beta start time would be a totally acceptable middle ground, if they're gonna have to wait a little longer to have everything they want in order.

They should just roll with it, nothing bad can't happen, maybe they are scared of hackers but you should be scared of that all the time and be on your guard.

Within a community as small as this, you would be surprised at how well we all know each other. EDIT : Regardless I agree, the invites should be going out as soon as this thread was launched, the whole hype train thing is so StarCraft 2 Esque..... =p

There will be ranked play, and what exactly that's going to look like is in discussion presently. A solid ranked system is obviously a very high priority for me personally =) Thanks for the answer (and the other two!). I know personally, a ranking system is very important and glad to see it is being discussed.

There are around 50 people who already have access. But seriously, the server is active development and we'll keep increasing that number as we fix and implement things that are necessary for larger numbers. So we just ask to be a little bit patient; we were working on this server for the past three and a half years, we have no plans to stop now.

It's not like you are making new Battle.Net. Yeah, you're right, this is much better ![]() The point of a closed beta is to have people test the server and find bugs/give feedback in a controlled way. We have a couple issues that ~half the people on the server run into fairly often. They're known things, we know how to fix them, it just takes some time to write the code to do so. It'd be fairly useless to admit hundreds of new people just to have them tell us the same thing (and possibly get frustrated and not come back), so we haven't done that. Be patient, we'll be sending out a wave of invites soon.

I don't want to disrespect your IT skills that allow you to judge this from the outside, but I think the dev-team itself is the best entity to decide when to invite new people. I'm very impatiantly waiting for this as well though ^^ - they should make a raffle to allow like two people pre-alpha/beta access!

So now you are using "it's theirs product so they can do whatever they want with it". Okay if we gonna stay on such primitive level of discussion.
