And then you would need to add the management overhead at blizzards too. Besides: Why should blizzard do this kind of thing? If the community is already doing it why do any work yourself? Nobody is blaiming them for not supporting a 20 year old game. No competitor is doing that sort of thing. The only reason might be publicity. They could brag about supporting their old old games and tell everybody what a great company they are but that is probably not worth it financially. | ||

I would say most servers for a multiplayer game from 1998 are shut down and you can't play online. | ||

Absolutely, heck most of the old c&c games, even the more recent ones which are only like 6 or 7 years old are unsupported, compared to EA Blizzard is an amazing company in terms of support. Still salty EA never patched KW past 1.02 even leaving in ridiculous bugs like the ZOCOM predator bug. | ||
