Lee 'n.Die_aSam' Hyung-yeon, a former professional gamer who played for the Hanbit Stars (now Woongjin Stars) team passed away on the 22nd of December at the age of 20.
aSam made his debut in 2008 and after a brief period staying with the team during its transition from Hanbit to Woongjin, retired from the sport. A Protoss player, he is most known for playing against YellOw in the GOMTV Classic as well as playing teamplay matches with Child. After his retirement, he spent time teaching himself Japanese.
He had been undertaking medical treatment at a hospital in Daejeon after having an unspecified accident before his death. Former team mates and coaches have sent their respects and condolences to his family and friends.
Thinking back I have seen aSam so many times on USWest, it is sad to see him gone , but he is still with us in our hearts, I am sure he is in heaven playing BW with Violet right now.. god bless them both, I hope there families the best.
Rest in peace, there is nothing sadder than seeing someone in their prime passing away... seeing that picture with you smiling is heartbreaking, it just goes to show how much more you had to live for. You will impress everyone in heaven with your sick APM, I'm sure.
Any news on how it happened? Not to spread rumors, but I was informed that it was suicide. Please, please tell me I'm wrong. That's the saddest way imaginable to die.

Could we get a little logo on the corner of TL's page in remembrance of aSam's passing like TL did for violet ? I think that would be really special and amazing thing to do for him, his fans, and family, maybe we can also find a way to get a card made to his family? Sad that he never got more recognition, although I did remember his name from seeing him in the free agents on the old BW MyStarcraft translations I used to play a few years back :o
