It shows people are TRYING to watch, Im just raging cuz the stream cut out in the middle of Jinros game and Ive spent 20 minutes trying to get it to work, and im pissed cuz its nearly 5 A.M. and ive been waiting all day for this match. IM just saying that Gom KNOWS theres a problem but have yet to fix it. How is it or 'esports' supposed to grow when u cant even watch the game do to a reoccuring problem?

IMO, if you paid for the season ticket, then you have a right to rage (though you can always watch the games from VODs). However, if you're watching the free low-quality stream, then you just need to appreciate that GOM providing a free streaming service in the first place.

My problem tonight is that I really wanted to see Jinros games, and Ive been working evenings lately so I dont watch as much of the GSL as I did last year (which was every day) I understand that the streams work a lot more than it doesn't but all im saying is that the problem is there and happens often 2 out of 5 nights with a crash doesnt seem acceptable for a major tournament like this.

If the complaint is well thought out then it would make more sense for the complaint to be engaged. But the OP is entirely composed of frustration. GOMTV doesn't want restreams and that is completely reasonable since they want to be able to better gauge their viewers. It is awesome that Starcraft 2 is being streamed and that powerful organizations like Blizzard, Intel and Pepsi are behind it. Dealing with traffic is part of the growth of eSports so its unreasonable for someone to expect GOMTV to be perfect every night and in every way in that regard. So, I think my post is fine. I'm not saying its not fine to complain about things but to rather bring actual arguments to the table if you actually want to be taken seriously. Edit: Also I realize this is a blog and is probably just for someone to vent, but venting to the public invokes public opinion from either side.

It's generally 50:50 for me. The real issue here is that the big games bring more viewers which brings a lot more crashes. So the 50% the site crashes on are the important 50% to me. I paid for the sole purpose of having the HQ stream because I have a TV I connect my computer to so I actually notice a difference. Any time someone like Nada/Jinro/MKP/MC play you can almost expect the site will crash at least once that night, and because of Murphy it will always be during a pinnacle moment.

GOM providing a free stream is not your right as an individual, you should be thankful that it exists. Hopefully the game expands, is embraced, lasts just like Brood War has, and changes the world into playing wargames instead of actually engaging in them. ![]()

Sure I could buy the vods but the thing is that I really dont think that sc2games are really worth it, not yet atleast. My opinion is that if they really wanna grow the audience they should allow restreams so that everyone can enjoy the games just like we do with the bwgames

Also, id point out that the reason why there is such an awesome BW scene in korea is because of big sponsorships, which dont come from having a niche thing. User was warned for this post

Yes, I watched almost all the games with Jinro, IdrA, MC, MVP, and I have no problems with the stream at all. Of course the site can be slow from times to times, but the stream itself? Never. So I personally think that for a FREE service, GOM is doing an awesome job on the stability of the stream. And a free stream, for 100% of both the Code A and Code S games, crashing from time to time for some people means GOM sucks? Can you please go yell at ESPN and NHL that they suck, so they put up FREE streams of ALL NHL games? Even though they crash once in a while, I'll be glad to watch them on there. Because you know, companies who suck and don't care about their viewers obviously set up free worldwide streams for all their content... In case you wondered, no I don't have a season ticket, I watch the free stream, and it still works well. + Show Spoiler + WAHHH WAHHH MOMMY I WANT SOME CANDIES!! Ok son, here are some free candies, enjoy! ![]() NOOO!! THOSE CANDIES ARE TOO HARD! I WANT GUMMY BEARS! YOU SUCK MOM! I HATE YOU!

I think that would benefit both paying customers when the bandwidth load is eased off the site (no more crashes!), and free users, for the free users will end up using someone else's (Youtube's) bandwidth since they aren't contributing to revenue anyhow, and they could throw down banners every 5-10 minutes telling Youtube's free viewers that much better streams and quality can be had for paying viewers.

The GomLab tells me to click the button that says: Find Codec Problem is, that button does not exist. My error message says 'Confirm that you are running the correct codec.' WTF? Help? Ya know, I've watched BroodWar for years and there's never been a problem. Saying GOM is busting their asses doesn't make them competent. Legit companies have their shit together and don't constantly rely on their paying viewership to forgive failures in an industry that is mapped out and has precedents of companies who've made it work. Asking for forgiveness when you have a long history of doing things right is okay. That's like when Flash v Jaedong finals had a blackout. Asking for forgiveness a couple times a week just makes it sound like you're doing a crap job. edit: my point being GOM aren't exactly pioneers here. There's companies that have been doing this right for a really long time.
