Basically I'm playing SC2 on a pretty low-end PC, and lowest settings are all I can play this game on. I get a pretty decent FPS in a normal scenario (about 40-60 FPS, around 30ish during huge battles) but on xel'naga, especially the middle area, it drops my FPS to no end. I know I'm not the only person having this problem as a lot of other players using low-end PCs get massive FPS drops as well on this map.
I don't mind the map at all; In fact I do pretty well on it most of the time. But if I try to do anything other than A-moving on the map, especially when the game goes longer and I have to expand to the gold, it lags so much that it throws me off my game. Heck, I can't even spread creep properly when the tumours get close to the middle of the map. It's annoying really.
Knowing that blizzard will never fix this by removing the random "lightning" special effects in the middle of the map or whatever it is that's causing xel'naga to lag the shit out of my PC, the simplest solution would be for me to veto the map for 1v1 ladder. The problem is, I already have backwater, slag pits, and delta veto'd. Truth be told, I haven't played much on those maps ('cept DQ lol), but apparently they're horrible maps, so I just went with the flow and veto'd them like everyone else lol.
Now my question is: Do you people think I should bear with the screen lag on xelnaga, or should I veto it for another map? If so, which map would be the most logical choice? I'm a plat zerg if that might help in any way.
Thanks!
