I'm currently in gold, but I get matched up to platinum diamond most of the time (wonderful blizz matchmaking). I was wondering if there are any replay packs available from high/pro level players displaying the most common zerg tactics in each matchup.
So for ZvP: roach/infestor or whatever or ZvT: ling, bling, muta. Are there any packs neatly organized by each tactic somewhere? Grabbing random from MLG is a good idea. Also using just searching TL for a zerg replay pack could probably yield helpful results. I know FXOsheth releases basically every single replay of every game he plays, so you might want to look into that. Well I was hoping if there were any packs organized by strategy like Replay pack 1: 5x ZvP: roach infestor Replay pack 2: 5x ZvP: ling/bling/muta Replay pack 3: 5x ZvT: ling/bling/muta etc. So that I can easily focus on one certain matchup and one certain strategy within that matchup. I was hoping to skip going through tons of replays (from which a lot are probably outdated, so SC has to 'reboot' into an older version every time. Well then just 8x through a bunch of replays from one of the many sc2 replay sites and if it looks like something you want to learn, keep the replay, if not, delete it. A lot of zerg comes from intuition and on-the-spot thinking to react correctly to your opponent's play. Analyzing replays can help with this but for the most part this skill comes from game after game, loss after loss. I'm not trying to be a dick or anything, but can someone please answer if there are any packs organized like this? AGAIN, PLEASE, IM NOT LOOKING FOR THESE ANSWERS: ME: I was hoping to skip going through tons of replays (from which a lot are probably outdated, so SC has to 'reboot' into an older version every time.REPLY: Well then just 8x through a bunch of replays
I'm sorry that was just a bad answer by me, I was just trying to provide suggestions if you could not find the kind of replay pack you were looking for, my bad.

Actually, battle.net is divided by server/portal (North America, Europe, SEA), rather than by time zone (USW, USE etc)-- so if your timezone is off, as long as your client is attached the the right server/portal there should be no impact on who you are matched against

Quick PvP question. When I spot a proxy 2 gate in my expansion and I'm opening normally (12 gate 14 gas 17 core 18 lot for example) how should I respond?

What's the best unit composition in PvZ against infestor/ling with baneling drops on army?

Your standard protoss deathball will do fine, this style just forces you to control it differently. Of course, templar and archons are very deadly as well, but as long as you spend your force fields right, don't engage in a dumb spot, and control against banes properly it should be an even trade.

Even with perfect forcfields i still lose the majority of my army to the bane drops..and I can't kite the overlords back because my army is fungaled in place. Are templar required against this?

I conducted a keyword search on the TL forums, and after a few failed attempts, I found this post.
Initially, it notes that you want to add templars and archons to your composition to deal with an infestor/baneling threat. However, given that you fail to scout, it gives advice on how to micro with a robo-based army.
+ Show Spoiler [microing robo vs infestor baneling] +On May 29 2011 03:00 Felo wrote:Disclaimer: ~1k ML Protoss What you're basically trying to achieve is to get your important units out of the way - Its okay to trade some Stalkers for some Banelings (Note: the word "some" is important in that matter), but its absolutely not okay to get your Sentries or Colossus bombed to the stone age. There are basically two different scenarios: 1. You are stuck on Stalker/Sentry/Colossus/Immortal for whatever reason and have to deal with his army the hard way 2. You scouted his Infestation Pit and eventually his Baneling Nest, so you tech switched out of colossus into Zealot/Stalker/Templar/Archon with heavy upgrades As Scenario two is self explanatory I'm only referring to scenario 1: As soon as the Zerg is approaching me with whatever ground army he has + Overlords, I'm instantly sending my sentries and Colossus back without slamming some FFs on the ground - as soon as my Sentries are behind my Stalkers I'm casting FFs to cut the engaged Zerg Army off, catching 1/4 of them on my side - the times where I haven't done that the Zerg has always backed away - disgusting! From here on everything else comes solely down to Stalker Micro as mentioned above - if you have blink, great - split away! If you dont have it stutter step your stalkers backwards for as long as possible to kill either parts of his army or a couple of overlords. When you're running out of running space you should try to box a couple of your Stalkers (4-5) and try to split them that way similar as terrans are splitting their marines against Banelings (That requires a lot of APM, don't worry if you're only able to split up bigger stalker groups, its fine). As already mentioned its nearly impossible to kill every overlord and all the banelings, so you'll inevitably get some of the Banes into your face. Two options: 1. The Zerg starts to unload his (Speed)Banes as soon as he realizes that you're trying to kite him - Try to FF! 2. He keeps on flying and drops them onto your Stalkers as soon as you're running out of space. Well, now it only matters if you've splitted them up well enough ^^ tl;dr* FF off the most part of the Zerg army (So he loses at least some units when he's backing off) * Immediatly send your fragile units (Like HTs/Coloss/Sentries) back while your Stalkers stay * Stupper Step your Stalkers backwards, firing either on units or Overlords * Split your Stalkers as soon as you're running out of space to kite * If hes unloading Banelings far enough from your stalkers - FF! * Take the rest of the Banelings like a champ (Note: If you get fungal'd while trying to retreat give that guy a "gg wp" before you leave the game and try to add HTs quicker and scout more actively if and when he's getting Infestors

Learned this one the hard way the other day. Drop a second gate yourself, chrono zealots and casually tech to stalkers, as I think it was put to me. You'll have defender's advantage. Just keep chrono-ing zealots and dont forget to make probes.

Hopefully you have been active enough in your scouting that you don't catch it before its too late, but the best response would be to get out a stalker as quick as you can, and squeezing in zealots when you can. Good micro can resolve it at that point, but knowing the timings help.
Gateway: 60 seconds Zealot: 38 seconds Cybernetics Core: 50 Stalker: 42
--- basically if you spot them throw down the 2 gates, and then you throw down your cyber, you should still have enough time to squeeze out a stalker (chrono boosts should be going on your gateway ofc)

how many spine crawlers should i use to defend a standard 4 warpgate push? i've tried 4, and i doubt i need more, but i still seem to get crushed by them effortlessly on the protoss players part. i understand it may vary from time to time, but what's a good rule of thumb to go by?

I am a Terran player. Where can i find a post about the TvP match up, including terran openings and theorycrafting? Im a platinum player, and i am having really trouble with this match up

What are the usual timings for concussive shell and stim in a PvT. Also for zergling speed in PvZ. Thanks!

What's a good 4 gate build (for P vs X preferably) AFTER patch 1.3.3? I think liquiepdia's is outdated

Did you use the search bar? I remember seeing a guide about terran in general bumped a few days ago.

It depends mostly on the terrain. I've found that on maps like shakuras where the natural is very choked, simply spamming nothing but spines and queen or two can defend. On more open maps I've found that if I just make as many units as larve permits, then invest the rest into spines the ratio works out beutifully. As long as you're spending your larve properly in the early game it should work out.

can you tell what unit is building out of the robotics facility and if so how? all i see is a large sphere :/ i know you can see the image in the stargate, but i cannot tell the difference at the robotics facility

Marine/Tank/Medivac can work against Terran/Zerg, maybe not as much protoss, still viable but a little more complicated
If you're talking about a build for each matchup, I've always recommended macro builds, and I think the number one regret I have when playing this game is not going more macro-oriented builds when I was starting.
TvZ - 1rax 1 factory expand TvP 1rax fe <---- probably the build I'd recommend against any MU tbh. TvT 1rax reactor + factory expand
The key to being better is - NOT BEING AFRAID OF TAKING YOUR THIRD EXPANSION + Adding production facilities, don't be afraid to add a lot of barracks just don't add too many. I know you were just asking for builds but I got carried away ;3.
~1500 Masters Terran
Awesome, thanks. Will note these!
