If you have about the same amount of units of the same type as your opponent and most of your units can fire at the same time, do you get an advantage or disadvantage when targetfiring individual units vs. a-moving?

In general is there a rule of thumb to decide wether to targetfire or a-move and are there other methods except those two?

Worry about getting every single one of your units attacking at once with the fewest number of enemy units attacking at once THEN work on target firing. Typically there are much more important things to be doing than individually clicking enemy units.

Target fire is best used for very small # of units or for sniping key units like collosus or queens/hydras vs voidrays/banshee.

Question:

How long does it take to mine out my Main from beginning of the game when I constantly produce workers?

Build some spines at each base should be enough to kill off or at least delay smaller drops so you send a few lings over to clean up, if it's a further away base the more spines is advised.

1) Spread out your overlords so that you have complete vision of the drop lanes (e.g., over the gaps in bases in metal) and watch your minimap like a hawk.
2) Anticipate increased, multi-prong drop play as terran's "come back from behind" strategy similarly to anticipating DTs from protoss when they are behind.
3) Favor a spire for mutalisks if terran aggressively pursues drop play.
4) In the late-game don't shy away from spining up your undefended bases to buy yourself time.
5) If you are in the habit of immediately hotkeying your eggs to your main army immediately, try to avoid doing so when late game drops are a threat so you can use your reinforcements to defend your bases instead.
6) Get in the habit of only send the amount of units you think will need to defend a drop and no more instead of 1aing your whole army. This will help you prepare for multi-prong drops and also keep you from conceding ground when terran uses the drop as a feint to move up their tank line.

First, hack with overlords. It will give you enough time to prepare.
If a drop was unforeseen, you could use burrow while waiting for your army or kite with 2 or so drones while the others maynard about.
Or else, since it's late game already and you have more or less enough money, make 1 or 2 spines. They can switch between bases for optimised use.

What are solid protoss builds for each matchup? Is a 3 gate sentry expand still viable in pvz?

3-gate sentry viable? Yes.

Otherwise:

So for ZvP: roach/infestor or whatever or ZvT: ling, bling, muta. Are there any packs neatly organized by each tactic somewhere?

Grabbing random from MLG is a good idea. Also using just searching TL for a zerg replay pack could probably yield helpful results. I know FXOsheth releases basically every single replay of every game he plays, so you might want to look into that.

Well I was hoping if there were any packs organized by strategy like

Replay pack 1:
5x ZvP: roach infestor

Replay pack 2:
5x ZvP: ling/bling/muta

Replay pack 3:
5x ZvT: ling/bling/muta

etc. So that I can easily focus on one certain matchup and one certain strategy within that matchup. I was hoping to skip going through tons of replays (from which a lot are probably outdated, so SC has to 'reboot' into an older version every time.

Well then just 8x through a bunch of replays from one of the many sc2 replay sites and if it looks like something you want to learn, keep the replay, if not, delete it.

A lot of zerg comes from intuition and on-the-spot thinking to react correctly to your opponent's play. Analyzing replays can help with this but for the most part this skill comes from game after game, loss after loss.

I'm not trying to be a dick or anything, but can someone please answer if there are any packs organized like this?

AGAIN, PLEASE, IM NOT LOOKING FOR THESE ANSWERS:

Not counting "cheese".

If you were only allowed to play 1 build as a terran player on the ladder, which build would you recommend?

I'm trying to find the most standard terran build there is and only practice that build vs any matchup/map so that I can learn it really well and after a while understand its strengths and also recognize when it is weak.

@papaz

Marine/Tank/Medivac can work against Terran/Zerg, maybe not as much protoss, still viable but a little more complicated

If you're talking about a build for each matchup, I've always recommended macro builds, and I think the number one regret I have when playing this game is not going more macro-oriented builds when I was starting.

TvZ - 1rax 1 factory expand
TvP 1rax fe <---- probably the build I'd recommend against any MU tbh.
TvT 1rax reactor + factory expand

The key to being better is - NOT BEING AFRAID OF TAKING YOUR THIRD EXPANSION + Adding production facilities, don't be afraid to add a lot of barracks just don't add too many. I know you were just asking for builds but I got carried away ;3.

If you found replay packs set up that neatly you should let us know... just download a player's replay pack and hope that he does the same strategy in most of his games. I know sheth uploads just about every replay he has.

If collosus damage is the same vs all types of units, i mean not incremented vs light or vs armored like other units like hellions or immortals...

Why is it that in TvZ, when the zerg goes hydra then collosus are almost and obligation for the P. But when zerg goes roach there is not as much fuzz about getting collo?

Roaches have a lot more life/armor(i believe) than hydras. They tank colo shots much much better than hydras who get obliterated.

The main thing is that Hydras are effective against gateway units not because they can take lots of damage before falling, but because they have good damage output. Colossi deal their damage in a splash effect, and Roaches have enough hitpoints and are fast enough that this isn't as much of a problem for them as it is for Hydras. This is why you will see Protoss players using Colossi against Hydralisk-heavy zerg compositions.
When you stare into the iCCup, the iCCup stares back.

He's done collaborations with many other race players, (White Ra, Incontrol, QXC). It's all on his youtube channel so try searching/looking through his video lists).

Not as of yet but I believe I heard talk about something like this happening from him, just rumors I think.
