We have brunette (brown), blonde (obv), red-head
but there's no common saying for black haired people
ive heard raven-haired, or raven-taressed, and even brunette to encompass black haired as well but none of these sit right with me. In casual conversation we often overlook this and just call them dark haired people or describe them awkwardly but it'd be awesome if there was a proper word to fit in with the others.
So any one know of any or have any good suggestions for what we might call those bestowed with such dark hair?

Brunette is generally used right? Most black-haired people have very dark brown hair.
Raven-haired sounds like you're writing a poem. Perhaps, you can call them black heads lol

Raven-haired sounds like bad Harry Potter fanfiction. That, and emerald orbs for eyes. T_T.
I guess there doesn't seem to be a word for it...although in most fantasy novels, you get: "the man with coal-black hair" or "the woman with raven hair."

Alas, dear Yorick - check out that raven haired maiden!

I'm gonna stick with Sables. I like that word

A small, sandy-haired woman who worked in the next cubicle to Winston was between them. The girl with dark hair was sitting immediately behind.
I don't know, dark-haired just brings up 1984 in my mind.

Hmmm... I could call people with black hair Darcsens, but that would be racist. (see if you can get this reference)
