We will be moderating harshly in this thread. Think twice before you post. Things we are watching for: image macros, balance whining, "eagles", player bashing etc. We encourage civil and reasoned critique of our moderation - please post it in the website feedback forum.
Please don't complain about MLG stream quality or MLG itself. They work very hard to provide you with an enjoyable service.
Enough with the racism discussions, this is a LR Thread. Cut it out. -- updated 7:55 KST |

I don't think he's the type to go back to the major leagues and would rather stay in the minors and dominate the lower talent. Idra already said he won't go to Korea, not for code A nor code S. In Korea you basically only play the GSL while there's a lot more oppurtunities in the US and Europe Yea i wouldn't want to play in the NFL and play for $50,000 when i can dominate the CFL and win the $250 prize pools. The only prize pools worth anything in the US are the MLG overall championship and blizzcon and the koreans will come to win those. Thats the problem with the north american players, they want to settle for lesser leagues because becoming the best takes too much work. I think idra doesnt want to go back to korea because he got run out the first time because of his attitude is my guess. He didn't get run out -.-.. He said the scene is easier to succeed here instead of playing in one hard tournament. Between NASL, IEM, Dreamhack, and MLG, the prize pool for foreign events is bigger than that of the GSL. Korea has their own smaller tournaments, I realize, but I believe the two scenes are pretty equal in terms of prize pool, and the foreign scene is much easier. It makes a lot more sense to stay in the US, where you were _born_, than to live in a foreign country where you'll probably end up making less money. Foreigners can say goodbye to easy money. If koreans start invading western lans foreigners are gonna be bankrupt soon. or learn to be better gamer... Won't happen, if Koreans start coming to major western tournaments then western e-sports will die. They will just dominate everything, the scene will get stagnant and boring, and that will be it.
So we just disallow Koreans and crown paper champions?
OH LOOK! IDRA WINS MLG ANAHEIM! HE'S THE BEST IN THE WORLD!
If the Koreans aren't allowed to come, every champion will just be a paper champion that won't be considered the best because of the competition. If the foreigners want to get better, they need to play the best in the world.

Guess I wasn't the only one that doesn't care about the results of a bunch of random koreans. That's why the most popular tournament in SC2 is the GSL? Most popular with Koreans, before SC2 and the western tournaments Starcraft was a tiny niche in the West. Just look at TL, it went from a tiny community where everyone knew everyone else to a destination on the internet. The west got into SC2 because of western players and tournaments. Alright then. Write a letter to MLG to not allow Koreans play because you don't know them and they're too good. Yea. Should only be known, mostly american players (maybe some european, if you've heard of them). I don't want to watch no-names any chanse of playing the game competativly.

Losira playing a lot better ZvT, although that attack was pretty weird.

There was so much backstory behind IdrA/MC that it grasped everyone's attention. Losira and MMA just doesn't have that animosity between them, or else it would be a lot different. But having no foreigners remaining definitely won't help the cause. Even before the Idra match, during the Naniwa of earlier matches. This thread was moving much much faster. I know for me personally the level of interest just dropped off, it honestly makes me no difference at all who wins now, because these players mean nothing to me. Did you think that perhaps people are just tired of watching a tournament for an entire day? Stop making baseless assumptions based on your own personal opinion.
Also, some of us watch SC2 games for the gameplay... and I'm fairly certain I'm not the only one more interested in the Korean SC2 scene than the western one.

This is the Losira ZvT we saw at the GSL, it's just not very good. :/
On the bright side, it's going to be an amazing ZvP against MC.

Is it a bo5 or bo3? Best of 3.

Really bad decision from Losira, essentially threw away that game twice*

I am not sure which I hate more right now, blizzard or microsoft (bing).

I thought SC2 is about talent; but for American White fan boys, it's all about loving your own people.

Whoa, I had gotten no ads at all, but now a bing ad D:
Seems to be the first of many ;_;

(winner gets it regardless of where hes from) NO, WINNER DO NOT GET CODE S. Can people stop saying that? Next MLG will award a code-s spot, but this one is for code-a only, as the upcoming code-s is already set in stone.

I think you're missing the part of capitalism where numbers of audience members equates to the amount of bankroll you have. For that part, this guy SHOULD share his opinion, as people need to know it. What sort of progress would ANY sport/event/group/workplace/team etc have if the answer was always "DON'T LIKE IT? WELL SHUSH!"

Not in Columbus, only on the next MLGs I believe.

Why do people keep saying this? It's getting pretty annoying now :/
THE WINNER DOES NOT GET A SPOT IN CODE S.

NO the winner does NOT get code S. If a mod could add that to top it would eliminate a lot of confusion. Also the Koreans I believe are not eligable for the spot but that one im less sure of.

This. Same for me I was so pumped about the Nani match then he got 2-0'd so fast, Idra threw 3 games away. The last game didnt matter to me coz i knew he will lose ;(
Just don't like the "Koreans own white dudes" to be the truth

dont really know why most people favor tastosis over day9/wheat in this situation. tasteless always forgets to keep the production tab open after he switches to check unit counts and they just can't make me half as excited about a match while watching it as day9 and wheat can
