My Generation Naw, not this generation X generation Y generation Z junk. I mean teamliquid generations.
I’ve been lurking tl since the last half of 2008. Finally made an account in July 2009. And I was listening to the SoTG episode 38. Kennigit talks about how the disciplinary system has changed because everybody doesn’t know everybody else. It’s a far different experience from when I made my first clueless post because some guy worker rushed me with gas stack and I had no idea how to deal with it. Even in this stupid strat forum thread CharlieMurphy and some other guy bantered back and forth making jokes that people wouldn’t understand now, and would say was terribly inappropriate. I joined tl when the SC2 forum was this one little thing in the corner, and FrozenArbiter presided over it. I sort of ripped off my name from Carnac, cause I thought he was cool lol. My normal alias was Froad. But ac sounds cool, so I made my name Froadac lol. In any case, I did really like the atmosphere. Even if I was clueless as inside jokes were made, I knew that everyone knew everybody, and personalities were known. Now in this mob I don’t know everybody: not even close. (mob in a neutral way lol)
I joined tlnet just as registration increased for the much anticipated SC2. And I didn’t post much. So very few oldtimers know me, but I had seen them for a year >.>
Anyways, those were good times, with high quality of posting, and a small amount of bashing on newbies ^^ I was just thinking about it, and I can neither relate to the old-timers, or the SC2 wave. I came very late in the BW scene, and know many, but not many of them know me. The awkward period of late BW
Now on sale are open box Siberia v1 for like 36 bucks http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826249048R

Yet I recognize your name, did we argue about something? Also I guess I'm kinda in this boat although I've been lurking much much much longer than OP

I'm slightly oldschool too, I guess. Now I'm also bitter.

I'm that new guy that wants everyone to like him D: Damn you War3, why couldn't you have a community like TL!

What am I supposed to say? I was lurking even longer and joined later than you. Kinda sucks but that's just the way it is.

Flamewheel92 came about the same time as you, hes pretty well known. I don't think it really makes that much of an impact

How do you find out when you joined? I signed in on this account just to check.
EDIT: I joined when SC2 didn't exist and wasn't actually announced yet. It was a different time. No one wanted to say it but BW was dying outside of Korea. The foreign scene was being kept alive because we could follow the pros in Korea, but even the best (except for a select few, mostly from China) could even take real games off of progamers. BNET blew, it was all about Iccup...wow I miss those days. It was a simpler time. The community was small and although most didn't know me, I knew pretty much everyone over 1000 posts on TL...

I remember you when you were young and a goliath, Lucky.
EDIT: I have a new account now because I foolishly asked for this to be a permanent reaver....

oh you new school children. You have missed out on oh so many things.
You know how MTV used to stand for Music Television? And how the Tom Green Show was funny?
Reminiscing at the old school days of watching Wacky Races, Ahhhh Real Monsters, Wishbone, and Rockos Modern Life?
I remisicent when TeamLiquid and LiquidPoker was one. When the only foreigner in Korea still as a professional player was Assem. When Legionnaire stole JulyZerg's giant check at WCG. The times when Afreeca was just introduced to the foreign scene and I could watch pro games live for the first time ever.
Then I remember members of TeamLiquid who have long been forgotten. The members like linyu)wufan18 who would sneak into the playing area of WCG and swipe the replays and leak them to the foreigners. The unfolding of the ZiA being a guy instead of a girl after they said they were in a car crash and will never walk again.
I remember playing against Artosis, Slog, Nyoken, VCR~Mofo, ggdark, Theognis, Froz, Evade, and many others in WCG. Many players long lost and forgotten who I have shared many stories with. They have left the community for one reason or another.
I have so many memories thanks to TeamLiquid. Just imagine what will unfold in another 10 years.
will NaDa be a player of the past? A lost forgotten hero like GARIMTO[AKUTA]? maybe MC will be like Skeleton. Could BitbyBitPrime become the next boxer?
Many things will unfold.
But until then, you kids are so young!

Speak for yourself. I almost never post in LR topics, nothing to say in there.

Everyone's just talking about really interesting things ):
What's ADT?
Spam is a bad word D: I really hate it because it denotes negative quality of my posts.

I joined in Fall of 2008 so I get the same feeling. First got into BW watching JD vs fantasy OSL (MSL?) finals and discovering all the Boxer micro videos. It's weird that I follow both BW and SC2 scenes simultaneously but I'm sure there are many people who do.
