Great finals. Team leagues are so good.
DRG is truly fantastic. He just lost momentum against MMA when he threw all his ground army on 10 tanks - the difference management in a ling/bling/muta vs. tank/marine/medivac battle was really shown there. After that, it was all about MMA's upgrades allowing him to take the economic lead.
Can't wait to see DRG in Code A; really can't see him failing to make it there.

Because the Korean style of commentating is widely touted as the way to go - the most exciting and the most entertaining; if you can understand what they are saying.
Therefore, Moletrap and Doa going taking the same approach is not a bad thing, well at least for the status quo.

but amazing series It isn't just the game in itself that made it so great. You have to consider the situation, the build up, the players, etc. Are there games out there that are "better" in terms of better played and less mistakes, etc etc? Sure of course, but the atmosphere, whats on the line, the build up, the players, and being the last set of the Bo9, of two miracle teams, with two aces that are undefeated, one player being behind, making comebacks etc etc, just made it so awesome People that already know the result, then going back and watching it for their first time won't feel how we felt when we watched it live.
^ this its amazing to watch the whole series live..

idk DRG seemed to be able to take an early advantage really easily w/ how he macros but his unit control seems terrible... at least in the last game

so I'm finally catching up on the vods...
wow wtf violet really dropped the ball. did he just not click the stargate? he lucked out with frozen not noticing the scout and he didn't drop an evo chamber right away? it seemed like violet's decision making was lagging 10 minutes behind when he actually needed it... late spores, late hydras, late nydus, late everything... wow

Even if he had somehow missed the Stargate I don't see how he could have missed the void ray that killed all his lings.
Basically it was just a huge, huge failure of a game.

hoping to see an epic game 9 between him and MMA
First comment sure as hell got his wish, that was an amazing last game by MMA, executing perfect drop timings on zerg, which is an absolute must at that level. SUCH a great series, and as always, GSTL did not disappoint a single bit. I am so fucking happy that they are making it a mainstay of the GSL. It has been their best product since the creation of GSL by a large margin for me, and it is the only ticket I buy. The code S finals may disappoint every single god damn time, but GSTL has been off the charts epic and nail biting, with ranges of emotions and has gotten me all wiggly in my chair way more than anything else in SC2 so far. I was rooting hardcore for boxer last season, and they made another insane run this year. Couldn't be happier for them.
And for everyone upset that MVP got into the team league instead of IM before, this should be plenty of reason for why they made it instead. Not only did they make it to the finals, but they had one hell of a ride to get there, showing some amazing games, and featuring some great talent. DongRaeGu was only known as that top korean ladder zerg who was featured on Xeph's stream a few times, but now many more people know of him. The GSTL has the foundation of becoming something special, just like proleague is in broodwar. I am very excited for the future, and I thank GOM for for coming to their senses about the team aspect of starcraft. It is the most exciting thing to follow, and they have the perfect setup in place to make that happen.
Cheers!

Haven't posted in a LR thread in a while but I have to say definitely a great series finale . Not only the last game, series, but whole tourney really.
I was rooting for DRG and MVP but can't go wrong with the winners...best tourney so far for me prob.

I have to admit that for all my nitpicking on Moletrap and Doa's errors, they did a really good job for the final game in terms of channeling the emotion of the match.

Oh man. What an amazing amazing final game. That entire series was awesome and I'm so damn happy it ended like that.
Man MMA's hyperaggressive drop style really is so smart. It takes much more APM to deal with a drop then to perform the actual drop. MMA's drops in DRGs main weren't so effective after awhile, but he kept doing them just to distract DRG while he drops everywhere else at the same time. So smart and so well played. I can't believe this guy isn't in Code S.
He is going to dominate MLG.

I showed a few people the Nestea SC game and they didn't get it for the exact same reasons. All the build up was lost, and to them it was just 1 game, which on its own didn't come across as amazingly.
You can't judge games on their own. You can't ignore the 3 hours + all the other context which led to that final point where everything was on the line.
Perfect storytelling in this final. So good >_<

i just finished watching the finals. game 9 was one of the best game i have ever watched in my life.

Is the Mvp trophy for the whole season? Because one could argue that DongRaeGu was more valuable to his team than MMA was...

I'm guessing it is... or maybe MVP of the finals, since they're unlikely to award the Mvp award to non finalist. Surprised that MMA got it because DRG was definitely the Mvp of the tournament. But I guess if you beat the "MVP", it kinda makes you the MVP.
(Damn I hate MVP (the player) and MVP (the team) for naming themselves MVP)

Man, the last game was awesome! Can't dream about a better ace match!
btw
MVP, not the team, not the player. What is the MVP trophy? Most valueable player?
Edit: When i think of it, it make sense it's the most valuebale player =P
