It's not that i'm worried about my privacy, it's that giving up even the slightest right to privacy for nothing more in return than a product that's easy to use is a very slippery slope. I don't trade rights for convenience no matter how much sense it makes - especially given the direction in which society is headed. Example: today we consider fetal diagnostics perfectly normal (i do too). Tomorrow (in ~100 years) genetic sequencing of possible mates is quite likely to be common day practice. Now, you'd be mad to think information detailing personal data - search history, browsing history, emails etc. won't be items of extreme value in the near future. In fact - it's highly likely that we'll consider such information vital to our decision when we're electing our president for the coming four years. It will never be part of mainstream media - but tabloids will gobble it up like pictures of Emma Watsons' crotch. All i'm saying: don't wear tin foil hats, but don't be so quick to think "no one will care about this information anyways" - all information carries a value, in StarCraft, Poker and life. | ||
