Growing eSports, though? Reaching-out to bring new people in to the community? I'd like to thank Geoff for sticking the question to Alex and trying to weed-out what we want to hear, and despite not divulging much, it raises the point. With Alex's answer in mind, do me a favour, and check the front page of IGN.com. Look down the side-bars. Click "All Updates," and check the different tabs. Check everything. Something missing? Perhaps something pointing towards the burgeoning eSports scene?
**Nothing. Not one link to Starcraft anywhere on the front page. No link to an "IPL," no mention of eSports -- nothing. I hate to be a pessimist, as, like I said, a random "ProLeague" is better than none at all, but we're at the point where we really do have to start thinking about broadening the audience, and giving a website it's hoped-for sustained hits and ad revenue without a question isn't exactly the way.
A random thought while listening to more free marketing for people like Sundance (who likes the Marines.) At least MLG is reaching-out to more people, though.
**EDIT: nevermind, there's a link in the very top-right to the ProLeague. Regardless, it's still something that I think should be on our minds -- spreading outside our insular community.
