VIB why dont you go and fuck yourself? are u done trolling me bro?
did u fail reading comprehension? what did i ask u to debunk in my last post? just because u have no clue what i was talking about doesnt mean shit. keep ur stupid comments to urself its getting annoying and my patience just ran thin. if u dont like my post, DONT acknowledge it.
plus, technological singularity has NOTHING to do with aliens. ur an idiot.
I've always thought believe in things like 2012, ufos, ghosts, etc, because they want some kind of higher knowledge or truth that sets themselves apart from others. That or their lives are so dull that they force themselves to believe in something so fantastic that they escape the mundane.

After watching the beginning of his interview, i find it interesting how he always looks to his left when telling of his encounters, which is usually a sign of a liar

one day we'll know unless the human race kills itself before that
There's 7 billion people in the world. Seems like the human race is doing a decent job of not kill themselves
Doesn't a bigger population mean less resources and more environmental issues which might ruin this planet at a faster rate than it can recover from? And that's without even mentioning the possibility of nuclear war...

Exactly, did you miss all the stuff about global warming and water and food scarcities in the upcoming years (not to mention huge portions of the world already have trouble with water and food)? Aliens coming to kill us are the least of our problems...

Why I thought these sightings were unique / interesting.. most of them looked the exact same with multiple videos behind them. I have not heard any 'naturalistic explanations' of the specific ones I'm talking about (I realize SOME of them are fake, people). Until then, because I find it interesting, I can theory craft about what they might be and put the puzzle pieces together. How is that ANY more wrong than seeing something like this video and automatically making a post like you saying everyone else who believes this is an idiot?
I'm tired of internet assholes who think that posting in a thread saying how everyone else is dumb will SOMEHOW make them cooler. It doesn't.
If you want to contribute theorycraft, give real examples of debunking these.. etc.. Don't just come in here and say something to the extent of "Every single one of these videos are fake. You people are stupid for thinking they are real. I give no proof of anything but somehow my points hold more weight than yours. L8R". FFS.
You act as though a naturalistic explanation (weather phenomenon, clever editing, etc.) and aliens flying a ship around Earth are equally likely explanations when observing a glowing light in a youtube video. Yes, absolutely, other intelligent life in our universe is possible. But until I see even a shred of reliable evidence, I'm defaulting my belief to "bullshit." We have scientists around the world operating equipment around the clock trying to get into contact with other possible intelligent life forms. Still not a word from them yet. I'm not refusing the possibility of intelligent alien life, but I do refuse to believe something for which there is an appalling lack of reliable evidence.
I never said you were an idiot man. I'm not tryin' to be a hater here. But we're all adults, and I think we can all reasonably and sensibly question each other's beliefs without being offended or feeling as if anyone is calling each other stupid. While I think that you are probably incorrect about your beliefs regarding UFO sighting, this DOES NOT make anybody smarter or dumber than anyone else. Intelligence isn't necessarily related to holding correct beliefs. There are some damn smart people in this world that believe some damn stupid things.
I'm not theorycrafting here, or at least I don't think I am. It's just that every other "paranormal" phenomenon I have ever encountered in my life has had a sensible naturalistic explanation for it. I don't see why this "paranormal" phenomenon is different. Instead of defaulting my belief to "must be aliens", I simply think that it's more reasonable to default my belief to "probably naturalistic phenomenon." I really like for the beliefs that I hold to be true however, so if you have some piece of evidence that I'm not aware of, then let's hear it! None of my beliefs are sacred, and anyone is welcome to question every one of them; and if they turn out to be unreasonable/irrational/unsupported by evidence, then bam, I'm on your side now and I'll agree with you.
People are unbelivably arrogant, just plain arrogant, to belive there is no, NO life at ALL in universe than us???
Well lets think, 4 main elements of human body, hydrogen,oxigen..and(dont know english names, you can google it) are the 4 main elements of universe, the whole universe.
To belive that there is no life at all out there because we cant make it in a lab? We are dumb, it took nature billions of year to develop life as it is, it will take for us too.
Just my standpoint, there are aliens, (UFOs too, cus they just mark unidentified flying objects :D) we just havent found any of those races, universe is god damn biiiiggg.

Life: Carbon, Oxygen, Hydrogen, and Nitrogen
Universe: Hydrogen and Helium.
I'm pretty sure most people are not disbelieving aliens, just disbelieving aliens on/around Earth.

I don't think there are a lot of nonreligious people who believe aliens don't exist anywhere in the universe. You have to be pretty uneducated to believe that.
But to believe they are flying around in our skies is going just a tad too far, without evidence.
Anyone ever seen big rings around the moon? When I first noticed this phenomena it freaked the crap out of me. I was riding my bike (past like midnight) and I was stoned. I look up and there is no light so its easy to see the stars and moon, no clouds. I can see these giant rings around moon, gave me a really nice rush, seeing something so unexpected that seemed to irradiate physical presence. Then I looked it up online : ) sooo coool what just our world has to offer.

pretty sure they just proved not all life forms are carbon based :D.

Do you realize that this is the plot of the X-Files?
aand the plot of Fringe, wich is a realy great show if you get the actual story. Lets talk about Fringe cause its a freaking good show and the seasons finale is in the next weeks ok?!
The Fringe...the Fringe is like the X-Files made by Michael Bay.
As an astrophysics and maths major, I can say that there is NO chance of aliens visiting Earth.
There is no way for any civilisation to gather enough energy to send a spacecraft on an interstellar journey at a reasonable speed, say 5% of light speed. Even if you were to accelerate a spacecraft big enough to self-sustain a crew for hundreds of years to that speed, there are other huge problems. Your spacecraft hits something the mass of a grain of sand? It goes off with the power of a hydrogen bomb, obliterating your ship. You can determine this with very simple high school level calculations by sitting down for 5 minutes with Newton's Laws and E=mc2.
"But Rumple, what about making wormholes/teleportation/warp drive/some other ignorant sci-fi crap?" No, current accepted physics has no place for any of the nonsense suggested as a means for interstellar travel. Take, for example, a wormhole. Even if they are theoretically possible (the jury is still out on that), to create one (using the theoretical physics which postulate their existence) would require more energy than our Sun puts out in a century. And to sustain one so that you can travel through it before it collapses you would need to find something that produces NEGATIVE GRAVITY to put inside the wormhole. At some points in the wormhole, you need INFINITE NEGATIVE GRAVITY.
That said, let's assume that I'm wrong, and there is a way for interstellar travel to happen. It would still be an extremely difficult and expensive piece of engineering. And what do the aliens come to Earth to do? Why, appear outside crazy people's windows and hover in the sky of course.
Come on people, high school physics and common sense shows you that aliens cannot be visiting Earth. Just because we sometimes can't explain what is happening in these UFO videos does not mean that it's aliens. Show me an actual alien in the flesh, and I'll change my mind. I'll cover my balls in peanut butter and run naked across the country yelling "Fancy that, aliens are real'. Until then, don't continue to believe this bullshit.
If aliens had the technology to travel from one solar system to another and they reached our planet, they wouldn't be popping up as little lights in the sky. They would AT LEAST land on the ground, and probably take over the earth for its resources.
Now one thing i think is again wrong. Why aliens have to be hostile? Thats the thinking of us. Everything we dont make or know is hostile They just might be friendly too.
