Three years ago my aunt had a girl(Sage). Two years ago she had a son (Myles). She lives in Maine I live in Mass. Every two weeks me and my family go up to see her. Every two weeks they come down here to see us. Yesterday, it was my turn to see her. We were on the way when we got a call that my aunt was driving home from work and a tractor trailer jack knifed her. She's in the hospital. She has brain bleeding, stomach bleeding, and a broken c2 vertebrae. I was forced to stay home. My mom and Dad are in Maine. My grandma used to live with me and is now moving to Maine. I'm 16 years old and am crying watching a 14 year old who is supporting me. Nothing like this has ever happened before. I have to go to work tonight.

I think it's perfectly understandable if you skip work. Also emotional release is healthy, so don't be ashamed if you feel overwhelmed.

This is probably a good idea, but at the same time, you want to stay busy to keep your mind off things. Find something useful to do so you don't just sit around and worry.

Do this, take it easy for a day or two then when you are a bit more calmed down you can try to work again. Working will probably help you keep your mind off the accident, if it doesn't then don't work until things settle. I hope your aunt will be fine, take care :/

Horrible that that has happened to your aunt--I hope that she can come out of the hospital soon. Hopefully the situation is not aggravated further. You should really stay home and let it all out until you're cool n composed--try just chilling and watching a movie or smth and don't over think the situation (what could happen, why you love your aunt, w/e, thinking that much about it just makes it worse for yourself and maybe the people around you).

Also no shame in tears even if your the oldest. Some people are strong on the outside until they can't take it anymore and crumble all at once. And some people cry often but keep going after that.
