So I haven't played SC2 in a really long time due to school and my hanging out with my girlfriend / friends. I was about to play yesterday but I heard there was going to be ladder reset tomorrow (today) so I felt like "Meh, whats the point, might aswell just play tomorrow". So I just got home, patched the SC2, logged on.
I hit the "find game", it was searching, put on some reaaally good music to get my mood up.
SWIIING (o.O) I found a game, awesome. Terran on Metalopolis, felt good, I like PvT.
Oh, forgot to mention, I was gold before the patch, ranked 43 in my division or something (since last I looked, must have dropped some due to inactivity). Oh well...
I click my nexus, bind it to 4 and then I was about to hit a probe to bind to 1 and I missed it and felt like, is this a bad omen? Do I still suck?
Well well, the game went on, opened gate > core > gate > robo. I put down an expansion, was just about to finish as my observer gets to his base and I see he's moving out with 2 thors, lots of scvs and marines. Got scared as hell, cancelled my expansion, he poked at my pylon outside but then retreated.
I wait for 2-3 more immortals, make more stalkers, move to his base, he had like 4 thors now.
Smashed them, he tells GG and I felt so good.
What was even better is that when I got to the score screen I got the message that I'd been promoted to plat!
Good start on this afternoon, felt good. Now I must start picking up my playing again, will probably be streaming lots aswell.

I didn't change leagues with the new ladder, but I went from rank 75 S1 to rank 12 S2, and am steadily moving up in my league. Master here we come!

Good job man! Same thing happened to me in my re-placement match, guy tried to do like a 2 thor push. I went gate core robo gate gate, my obsy got there in time to see the first thor pop out. So I quickly chrono'd out 2 immortals and LOL'd when he tried to get up my ramp. Got put back into diamond, which I'm ok with. I haven't been playing as much lately...

I was really suprised, I mean, I wasn't top gold, I won vs plats but lost against goldplayers. Oh well, feels good :D

Deff : D I never ladder, decided to this season, played my placement and got disconnected !
Was placed in gold rank 19. I played one more game and was place in plat rank 3.
This system is way better. (was gold season 1)
