My suggestion is :
Get 1 or 2 dedicated lvlers and make them roll destroyer(preferably) or warlord(optional)
Also get 1 bishop (or ES) and a lvl 56 warlock (this will allow you to summon anyone to that place in question when you need to)
Lvl those up(with big aoe pulls.43-70 is EZ mode in LoA when you're mass pulling),and when you hit around 74-76 go to Forge of the gods. When you get there, pull the first 2 rooms and go down,go in a corner and use a polearm to mass kill everything(if you do this with a destroyer, lower yourself abit, use frenzy and zealot ,then start hitting with polearm and lifestealing,a healer would make this safer tho). The XP you get like this is insane. After that you can just go up and take the 2 rooms and take the 2 rooms below while you wait for the upper ones to respawn. The bonus of FoG is that there's ussualy no people there (unless the zone was tweaked) and the mobs spawn fairly quickly are easy to pull and give ALOOOOOT of xp.Also, there's a chance that after a mob dies it will spawn another 4-7 mobs wich is bonus xp for you.
Now,create any sort of class you want for a main, get all your lvl 1 chars in the party, get them to the lower part, make them sit slightly to the side, pull mobs, get lvl 85 in a few hours.
That's how we lvld with our clan (both mains and all the possible buffer alts)
The only problem to this is if there's the 20 lvl cap on the server. If there is one,it wont work untill you reach 60+ with the characters in question,if it doesn't,go from lvl 1.
Another good place to choose is any custom zone that all highrate servers provide.Make a lvl 56 warlock, bring him with your destroyer or warlord to a deeper part of the custom zuno (less people) and start summoning your mains/alts or characters you want to lvl with the warlock. After that, just start mass pulling and killing everything in sight with your mighty polearm. You can get so many people to 76+ SO QUICKLY this way.
Also,it's a good idea to make many lvl 56 warlocks and leave them in certain locations (key lvling spots, deep in custom zones, certain bosses/or their entrances and etc) considering this will cut your travel time and you wont have to fight the shitty mobs before you have to.
Anyways...That's just my 2 cents if anyone cared. But ofcourse, you all knew this and i'll be ridiculed for posting this.Oh well.
Or just go mass HE and pk everyone,i heard it's "hard" to do it in hellbound and no clans ever do it.

This is a great post, thank you for taking your time and explaining. I don't know how easy leveling will be with the custom areas but this sounds like a really well thought out plan. There is no level restriction with exp rates in this server so you can level someone from level 1 with a maxed level character.
I think the polearm method will be great when we need to level more characters. Thank you.

that warlock trick is pretty smart, is there a limit on the amount of accounts you can make?
I remember there was a way of leveling a low level in a high level party by letting a summon kill all mobs and having everyone stand as far away as possible while the low level is near the summon, did they fix that?
|
There's no limit. We had like 15 different accounts named : wlbaium,wlbarakiel,wllevel1,wllevel2 and etc.It really helps, considering there's no CD on the summon skill. And it saves up so much time in the long run. Also, they're a good way to scout if a custom boss is up,considering they're ussualy up in the world and in the open. You just log in,check,if it's up start inviting people and summoning, takes 3min.If not log out and continue doing whatever you were doing. And you will need the warlock anyways, for the queen buff if you'll be going for pvp.Especially if you chose to go the archer way.
But ye...I miss lineage 2...

Checking the forum, there wont be a lvl 20 penalty, so power leveling group is possible. This is similar setup to my old clan. The setup revolved around
1) Rouge pulls mass mobs 2) Tank spams mass hate to pull aggro (steps 1-2 is only required initially when mobs are actually a threat, once you get overgeared just let the Destroyer pull) 3) Destroyer and mages just spam AoE (or the comedy everyone grab a pike and wail on it) 4) 5-7 leechers hit required level and take over to help the next batch while the original batch move onto next zone and setup camp there. And the setup just rotates till everyone hits required level.
Our setup was Ants -> Forge -> custom zone (if there is one)
I can volunteer to roll a Destroyer/Bounty hunter (if S class is crafted and is spoiled) and assist in a powerlevel group. But we're gonna need 2-3 experienced summoners to make it run smoothly. Basically once they are leveled they (with couple support) have to move onto the new zone and they start summoning people in again.
It appears the "hot zones" of this server will be abandoned mine and imperial tomb, but I have no experience with the previous incarnation of this server so if anyone knows what level the custom mobs are it would be appreciated if they gave us any information.

I'll probably be playing in this server but I won't be playing forf TL, gonna join a clan with some old friends.
But as a tip, like mentioned before, the clan TL shouldn't get over ambitious. With a vast amount of first timers / generally in-experencied MMO players you can't hope to compete against the organised clans that have been there for numerous server starts and know exactly how to most out of their efforts.
But TL clan seems to have a healthy amount of players.
I think the best course of action would be to slowly and surely level up, get some gear, let people explore the game. The more experienced members will have to take care of the more difficult stuff like CH / buffers (might want to have more then just the AIO), and politics. Many of the ''top clans'' will be rushing to max level, rushing to noblesse and rushing to take control. Mainly because they have the know-how.
But this server WILL force you to fight for the best stuff and for certain quests. So you need to be prepared for it, and that is what I believe TL's biggest challenge will come. (Like for many other clan.)
Only a few more days!

You can't experience the game on highrates. And you wont experience anything while lvling on highrates aswell. The only thing you will experience is boredom and the rage of getting ganked over and over by lvl 80 people.
Highrate is only good for a few things.Get max lvl fast, get full geared fast and start to pvp/castle sieges/clan wars and raids. That's it.If you want to feel the joy of the game itself to the max, play on 5x or below servers.
Also the pvp on lineage is rather self explanatory and it's onyl moderatly hard if you're playing a caster class.
All archers involve firing hamstring shot (maybe) and stunning shot (again maybe) ,but all you do is auto attack and kite around .I doubt it will take more than a day or 2 for the newcomers to learn the ropes. That's why i suggested the fast lvling method because the sheer stupidity and boredom of highrate lvling would weed out alot of people and they would simply stop playing all together, but hey,if you want to try it,be my guest.Considering you will be hit by the subclass quest chain after you finish grinding and lvling, wich will be even more boring and appaling. After wich you will have to lvl...AGAIN.
Meh,i'll need to check if any oldschool alliances/clan will play on the server..I doubt i'll find trinity/allstars/UWS and etc. tho

So grinding is more fun on a 5x server? Don't see the logic behind that. Maybe it's just me, but when I was levelling my 7x in Teon at C4 and didn't see the bar % not even rise 0.01% after 10 mobs was quite boring. The fact I was levelling with friends made it bearable, which is something you can do in highrates aswell.
Grind = grind, the difference is that the grind in a 50x server goes away quite fast. (In a day if you play enough and know your way around, a few days if you don't.) Then yes there is subclass aswell, but again, no problem. In otherwords, if people really get bored of the game that fast, and can't even stand grinding for a few days, L2 is the wrong game.
Could you explain what experiencing L2 to the max means?
I think people can experience L2 in highrates just fine, especially casual players.
Also with grinding you also get experience. You learn your class, you learn the skills your class have, you learn the skills other people have, and so on.
But L2 is a teamgame like mentioned before. The most important thing isn't individual skill, how fast you react or how you use your classes skills. But how you work as a team, as a clan or as an alliance, understanding siege mechanics, importance of Olympiad, fightning over epics etc. These things take time. Usually longer then a few days. And this is what seperates good clans from bad ones, mindless zergs from big powerhouses.
But I suppose it's a difference in how you view the game.

So much negativity you guys are gonna scare away 90% of the players, you're even making me start to doubt it.

What Sernyl might mean is that on a highrate server the things that made retail really awesome is diminished. Since lvling was a pita all the pvp was really meaningful and winning was really important since it incurred xploss and possibly denial of getting that xp back for a good while if you came and took over a good lvling spot.
Sure the harsh world of l2 made fights not happen too but that was more a problem of bsoe which was intreduced after I had quit the first time.
On another note, I have tried searching but didnt find anything useful, any word on boss jewels ? These were pretty much a requirement in solopvp and made my comebacks alot easier (since i'm an awesome person I got to borrow sets :D ) wonder how common they will be or if they are gonna be really rare and I dont really know what's the better option.

High rate servers you fight over farming locations not xp zones. Its easy to have fond memories of grinding with guildies and stuff but its mostly guildies that you remember not grinding for an hour and looking at an xp bar that moved 3%.
Boss jewels will be pretty darn rare, boss timers are almost a week for the majour bosses.

What i meant to say is that,if you're playing on highrates you're obviously playing just for the pvp and general end game content. And you will not experience marketing, crafting, questing, story or all the zones in the game.Neighter will you experience msot of the low lvl boss fights and encounters.Sure, you can go there on highrates after you cap up your lvl,but it's not the same. And i'm not just taking this out of my ass, been playing lineage2 for a long....LONG time. And i'm certainly not saying that highrates are bad.
And again, that's why i suggested the fast lvling with mass pulling. You get it over with quickly and start doing pvp and quests for subclass/nobless and attunement for antharas/valakas and etc. Also raiding and blah blah.
Also, clan fights for lvling zones...the only "clan"fights you get are in custom zones, wich are at 76+ (most of the time) or clan fights/clan wars, wich happens at end game (unless you're on retail or under 5x server). And the castle sieges are one of THE best pvp encounters in MMO's.Seriously.Best thing ever.So i really don't see the problem with trying to make the under 76 lvling experience as fast and as simpler as possible. Considering you also need to farm alot of custom stuff for the gear ( wich again,is not the same as crafting the gear on lowrates) And the other fights that happen involve you being lvl 50+ and getting ganked by a group of 80's.
Sorry if i sounded offensive And new people shouldn't be discouraged from playing it.The end game pvp with a clan is moth definantly worth it.Some of the best pvp out there...Still,hellbound wasn't the best chronicle choice. They could of stuck with interlude or c5 ,but oh well :/

It's cause the longer it takes to level up, the longer is the time you spend with these friends, so of course you have stronger friendship after spending 2 months grinding, instead of 2 hours.
And I wouldn't call the jewels rare items. Yes, for the first weeks, sure, noone will have Valakas or Antharas. But be certain people will be raiding Queen Ant, Orfen, Core and certainly Zaken (this jewel is too good for "big names" to let it go). Since QA has 1 day respawn and Orfen/Core 2 day respawn, I bet many of those will be out in the first weeks.
And if they sell S-Class jewelry/weapons/armors on NPCs, you rest assured it won't be long until they start going for Baium, Antharas, Valakas and Frintezza. The only reason most servers (low rates) take time to have these raids it's because the clans have to grind too much S-class stuff and level up suporters and rechargers before being able to try it. But in a high rate server this will be done easily, especially if experienced players are coming in.

Think most people have played L2 before, and don't really wanna do the boring leveling part.
I just wanna smash newbs and grief the hell out of people.

I think they won't allow grief buffing?
I thought I read in the website somewhere "buffs only for party members".
Might be wrong tho

Mind you I am noob to this game I played in beta but that was it. So.. help and advice always welcomed and I know TL is good for helping. You'll do fine, anyone coming from a competitive starcraft scene rocks the shit out of anything that requires less than 60 APM.Learning the controls and general mechanics are about all that's going to be "difficult" for you.
Haha, too true.
I think ill try L2 out again. I played on retail beta and C1, then moved to Hellspawn, and jumped around countless times after that closed down.
Not sure what ill make yet. most likely either HE/PR or DA. Might do a bishop, they were pretty fun.
EDIT: What is the policy of dual boxing on there?

Werent you forced to do zaken with chars of his lvl i.e chars in their 50s ? That's what I remember from it and why it was a pain to get him. Tezza is pretty easy but antharas and valakas takes quite a few people to down them even with some decent gear.
Too bad that the boss jewels are so important if you wanna do some solopvp and is basiclly a must if you wanna do olympiad.

Yes, but since leveling at 50x is easy, that wouldn't be a problem. Just lvl some destroyers and it should be easy
