Just back from class feeling like crap. Grades for a subject are considerably bad, Im not happy with it. I knew I could do the questions for the mid term but I forgot the answer methods for 2 out of 4. Now Im not happy. I knew I didn't have enough early practice (I practiced the night before the exam but naturally it didn't retain so well)
I always had this problem of simply massing things. Mass study, mass gaming, mass anything. It's been causing problems for my study life and of course SC2 and SC1 in the past. Games do not matter and now I'm pissed.
I'm going to solve this problem.
First step: Removing the distractions on the PC.
How: Delete every other game except SC1 and SC2 to minimize gaming problems.
Since I know I can't mass games in SC1 and SC2, all the better to leave those games to either help me improve my play in them or turn to something else.
Step 2: Follow the ways of the MightyAtom.
I will follow his mantra. I will be a MACHINE. I AM A MACHINE!!!!!!!!
Step 3: Execute
I must do this or I will die one way or the other. I again....MUST BE A MACHINE!!!!!!!!!!!
End rant. Have a Good day.

Love your determination. Wish I could motivate myself as well and easily as you do.
|
Humans are easily motivated when something important is on the line. Same case for me.
|
Yea, Im in a situation where my relationship with my girlfriend is on the line, and depending on what I do over the next 2 to 4 months will effect every aspect of our relationship. So I understand the "something important is on the line". Looks like I need to do what your doing and get motivated.
|
I'm sensing some disturbing trends on TL:
i) Regarding Starcraft projects: 1. Post what you'd like to do. 2. Get praise. 3. Do nothing.
ii) Regarding Starcraft training: 1. Post what you'd like to do. 2. Get motivation. 3. Do nothing.
iii) Regarding girls: 1. Post what you'd like to do. 2. Get motivation. 3. Do nothing.
Please stop opening threads to get the feeling of accomplishment while bypassing the actual work. Getting mentally jerked off by some dudes on a forum is nice, but if you actually put in some effort you might get that girl / starcraft accomplishment / whatever.

Ya research shows if u tell people your goal there is a lot less chance ull achieve it cos it brings u social gratification and feels like uve done the goal in ur head...

Thanks for informing me. I didn't know that. Either way, I will achieve it or die later......yeah xd

Wow, thanks for the info Megamunky.
Looks like I need to stop celebrating so openly with people about small goals that achieve an overall goal.
|
Brahski, get the fuck off the internet. Right now. You don't seem too motivated if you're still posting.

Ive heard the opposite, if you tell people that you are going to do something, then you are more likely to do it because you feel shame when you dont achieve it.
I can see this being more effective with people you see IRL.

I was doing an all nighter a week ago and every few hours when I got really tired I would log onto iccup and play a 1v1 ladder to wake me up. It worked and was a great investment in time. 15ish min and it was like i woke up from a nap. (i think so atleast, I never actually fall asleep during a nap) IIIIIIII was refreshed. go bw.

"Nothing in excess" an old Greek saying, I think you should heed it
