don't need music but definitely need game sounds :D, although quiet music is nice too
|
Loud game sounds definitively not as loud as the casters though, and then quiet music
|
It really depends on who I'm watching cast. With day9 or Artosis I prefer both quiet sounds and music because they're really good at filling the silence as well as offering insight. However with casters that aren't as insightful or skilled at filling silence I prefer louder music.

I voted "Loud game sounds but quiet music", but in my experience of watching tons of vods and live casts, it is really important to have the game music audible to fill in dead time when the casters may not be speaking, especially in the beginning of the game.
Thank you for taking the time to ask the community about this, Hot_Bid!
Edit: an idea for a kind of "sound check" is making sure that the casters can be easily heard over multiple Stalker lasers, as that is one of the loudest sounds in the game, and sometimes it overwhelms youtube casters' videos.
I love hearing Marines die on GSL

without loud sound it can be hard to tell what is happening, without loud music it can be boring during lows and early game(only apply to terran music)
|
well loud sound depending on what you mean by it and low or no music, what is more important to me though is health bars. I think games are much easier to follow if health bars are always on.
|
no music, loud in game sound
|
Loud game sounds but quiet music! Game sounds are a must cause I like hearing what's happening. Music is optional, but it's nice to fill the silence and to create a nice atmosphere.

Voted wrong...
I meant loud sounds quiet music, its important to hear the game sounds to get the immersion feeling
|
Loud and loud. I still want to hear the casters but without the sound & music, the game definitely feels less alive. In my opinion quiet music is boring and makes me want to sleep. Quiet sound is very unconvenient.
off-topic; about health bars, as a spectator I don't like them being always on, so I prefer them appearing only on selected units. The GSL observer is very skilled in that regard.

Music should be as loud as they are in MSL/OSL i reckon.
|
Its really interesting to see how the first vote impacts the results of the poll. You shouldn't be able to see the currents poll until you vote.
|
loud sound and music ofc. loud music is win in bw, but sc2 music isn't that imba tho.. :/

What's the difference between Loud music/Loud sounds and quiet music/quiet sounds? Can't those both be adjusted on the listener's end?
I voted for loud sounds and quiet music. I want some background noise but not much.
|
Medium game sounds; no music.
|
i like no music at all personally

I voted for loud sounds and quiet music. I want some background noise but not much. I think the poll is relative to the casters' voices.

no music, medium game sounds. nothing should conflict with the commentator's voice.

Ye, music can be turned off, have the game sounds loud enough so that you can hear them but not too loud, obviously. Still would like to be able to hear the casters (usually, anyway, keke)
