Hi. I'm playing SC2 on a Mac (yes I see automatic hate on me for this), but as I started to play more and more I'll be leaning towards the Windows again. The keyboard that I use now is none other that Apple wireless keyboard and I must say I really love it, despite the fact my brother says it's complete trash etc. Now why? Because for 7 and 8 groups I use F2 and F3 keys respectively. Those keys are so close to numeric keys that it's very very practical since I'm used to it. Now the reason why I ask for your help is because I don't know any similar keyboards to this one and using Apple keyboard under Windows will work, but obviously cause troubles. Here is the image of how it exactly look like.

Well mechanical keyboards are your best bet for keyboards. Downsides are they're expensive and they won't make you super-pro or anything (but they're very worth it if you type a lot/use the computer a lot in general).
This is the mechanical keyboard I use:
Note the f-keys are close. It's really great quality as well, not far from a filco by all the reviews. Here is a review from geekhack: Noppoo Choc Mini
Really the best keyboard you can get for SC, the only downsides are that the keys are a bit hard to see and that you have to order it from Taiwan.

this is the keyboard I use:
Razer Marauder
I love it. Keys are rubber coated and feel really good. But I wish it was mechanical. Backlighting is awesome.
this is the one im going to get eventually:
Razer Blackwidow Ultimate
this one is mechanical, backlit, and/but has super loud keys. I personally love that.

I use alright ones from the stores.. nothing fancy... right now im using an old one i had laying around, it is working great and the way the feel of the keyboard is is perfectly the way i like them to be :D Pretty much a keyboard is like a mouse in how each person has different taste about them.

well apple keyboards are basically laptop keyboards, which use low-travel scissor switches
i don't know of anything really similar to that, but take a look at this, this seems like it would be acceptable. all the keys are close together and are laptop like and such. and it's even wireless, if that's what fits your fancy

Buying the Ultimate version of Blackwidow is completely unneccessary, in the normal version you dont have the useless usb port, sound thingie and not the backlighting on the buttons (which is also useless, even at lans and in the dark) and the difference in price is extreme. But I still recommend this keyboard the non-ultimate version of it that is.

omg, that is so sexy and i love even the extra backslash key btw alt and spacebar.
where can we get it? no where seems to sell it anymore. why would they discontinue such an awesomly designed keyboard?
the slightly smaller Fkeys allows for even more density. and it looks great.

Specifically...?

The biggest problem I see it's apple not windows, so I think hard time to configure it.
Anyway if some1 know keyboards that will work on both Mac and PC it would be appreciated. I mean with good drivers not like Razer Mac "Drivers"
I don't want Marauder because of it's distance between numbers and F keys.

Did you order the Noppoo from PCHome? or ArmyGroup?

This lasted me less than a year and keys started dying. Not very well-made. And it wasn't cheap either It's great to use and all, but it doesn't last and I'm not one to smash my keyboard or anything.
Currenty, using a cheap logitech ultraflat. It's similar to the above, but way cheaper.

I ordered through an agent (obook). They bought it directly from the manufacturer.

well from my experience, going from a nonlit keyboard to a lit keyboard was tremendous. I live in a studio apartment with my wife and she cant sleep with one of the room lights on. I need the backlighting personally.

Even with the extra $50 or so tagged on, it'd still be cheaper than a good number of mechanical keyboards and be more functional too. Not everyone is looking for a plain no-nonsense keyboard and if we're talking about bare necessity, there's no real necessity to buy a mechanical keyboard in the first place.
Interestingly enough, when I had my old G15, I used my USB ports all the time and my friends would always turn the backlighting on whenever they were over because it made it easier for them to find the keys in the dark while gaming. I suppose everyone is in a different situation when it comes to what they need or want, but that's why we have different models.

I have the marauder as well, i really wish it was mechanical, but i love the backlights, APM lighting is kind of gimmicky but it reminds me to work on keeping my apm at a decent level from time to time i like the fact that you can make the backlit any color though i keep my bright red looks awesome :D
